World Health Satellite Meeting organized by AMSA Singapore

Dear Friends,

AMSA Singapore, in conjunction with the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA) will be organizing the World Health Summit Regional Meeting- Asia Satellite Event, held in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore from the 6th to 7th of April! This is held in conjunction with the prestigious World Health Summit on the 8th to 10th April.The Satellite Event comprises of engaging dialogues, workshops and discussions particularly focusing on the roles of students in global health. Our guest speakers will also personally critique your ideas and help you sharpen you edge with regards to global healthcare policies!

Health is intrinsically linked to the well being of societies, and maintaining a healthy Asia will be beneficial to all in the region and the world. Accordingly, Singapore is hosting the first World Health Summit, Regional Meeting – Asia, Singapore 2013 from April 8th – 10th.

The event will be opened by Singapore’s Prime Minister,Mr. Lee Hsien Loong,the theme is "Health for Sustainable Development in Asia", including four sub-themes:

  • Impact of Health on Asian Economies
  • Financing Health Care in Asia
  • Innovations in Health in Asia
  • Emerging Health Threats in Asia

Fees / Satellite meeting is absolutely free!
Special Student’s Discount for WHS:
Students pay $500 (usual price: $1000)
Transport fees of 20 dollars a person is sponsored by AMSA Singapore!
Accomodation / 6th and 7th April / Booking of hotels/accommodation is up to you, however options are available (look at page 3)
8th-10th April / If you sign up for the World Health Summit, the accommodation is at the Ritz Carlton Hotel (included in the $500)
