Vacuum carpets before preschool starts.
Empty vacuum after use
All entrances/exits are kept clear of clutter, leaves, trash, etc
Staff purses, back packs and personal items are out of reach ofchildren.
All hygiene supplies are available and replenished as needed (soap, paper towels, toiletpaper, lined garbage can)
Pick up and put away stray toys and preschool items as needed
Empty garbage after snack daily
Sweep floors, dust furniture, and tidy sink areas as needed
All chemicals are locked/out of reach of children
All electrical outlets are covered
Furniture and equipment is in good repair (check for broken toys,accessories, wrinkled/disrepair rugs/carpet)
Heavy toys/items are stored on lowest shelves
Library kept in order and all books put away
No child is left unattended at any time
Make sure all toys are working properly, no broken toys
Make sure all children are indoors after playtime outdoors
Wipe down tables before and after activities and snack time
Kids must wash their hands before and after snacks
Pool floaty is on bathroom door.
OUTDOOR
Front gate and playground gate are closed securely when not in use
Trash or animal waste is not present on the playground or near front gate
Standing water is emptied and replaced each day from all collection sources (bird bath…)
No trip/ slip hazards or holes exist on the playground (sand…)
Ramp is swept daily and kids stay away from it unless with teacher
All climbing equipment shock absorbing materialin good repair
Sheds and tricycles are locked properly at the end of the period
No protruding bolts/screws/objects, broken or splinters on equipment
No broken toys on playground, let teacher know ASAP
Broken or poorly functioning equipment has been reported and removed
Student teachers are located around the play area so all areas are visibleduring play; children are accounted for at all times
Students closely supervise and encourage children to play safelyand use the equipment as intended to reduce injuries; children do not wander off
Children are dressed appropriately for weather (limit outside time
to 15 minutes when temperature is over 90° F)
One health and safety officer is available at the gate to ensure that IDs are being checked at the close of preschool
Room and yard are clean. Furniture has been moved to the proper location to allow Mrs. Dixon’s afternoon classes to function
Keep planters and grass clean at all times, daily check before and after preschool
