DIVINE SAVIOR CATHOLIC SCHOOL DIVINE DISPATCH

November 20, 2017

HAVE A SAFE AND BLESSED THANKSGIVING!

The Mission of Divine Savior Catholic School is to provide an environment for children to excel personally, academically and spiritually. Together we share in the mission of Divine Savior Parish to foster a faith filled community where Catholic values are learned through prayer, service and love. Our goal is to use these values to develop lifelong learners and compassionate leaders.

From the Desk of the Principal

I would like to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. Our students, families, and staff are a true blessing to me and together form a compassionate community where prayer, service and love are modeled. May you all enjoy your time with family and friends during the Thanksgiving break.

Thanksgiving Prayer

We thank You God for food, and remember the hungry.

We thank You God for health, and remember the sick.

We thank You God for friends, and remember the friendless.

We thank You God for freedom, and remember the enslaved.

May these remembrances stir us to service.

That Your gifts to us may be used for others. Amen

Yours in Faith, Lynn Sauer

DEAR PARENTS: OnFriday, December 1st,all Divine Savior Catholic School students will be traveling to the Saukville Marcus Theater to see the movie "The Star." The movie is about asmall, but brave, donkey named Bo who yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day, he finds the courage to break free, embarking on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a lovable sheep who has lost her flock, and Dave, a dove who has lofty aspirations. Along with three camels, and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become accidental heroes in the greatest story ever told -- the first Christmas. Be on the lookout for permission slips to come home before Thanksgiving break. Thank you! Mrs. Walter

EMERGENCY CLOSING OF SCHOOL

Divine Savior Catholic School observes the closing of school as determined by the Northern Ozaukee School District in case of severe weather conditions. If Random Lake School District closes and Northern Ozaukee does not, all Random Lake bus students will be given an excused absence for the day missed. The announcement of school closing will be made through the NOSD Skylert phone system and the Divine Savior Catholic School network of phone calls. The announcement will be made as early as possible on the following radio stations and television channels:

·  Radio: WTMJ (620AM) WOKY (920AM) WISN (1130AM)

·  TV: WTMJ (CH 4) WITI (CH 6) WISN (CH 12) CBS (CH58)

On a TWO-HOUR DELAYED START, students should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before classes begin. There is no supervision before that time. Every effort will be made to alert teachers to a school closing as early as possible. Many times the school does not know until the last possible time before the school buses are to go out. However, if the circumstances are such that the school secretary or principal can notify teachers well in advance, we shall do so. In case of an emergency situation within the building, the pastor and the principal will determine closing the school. Parents will be notified as soon as possible. There will be no a.m. Kindergarten for half-day students on delayed start days.

WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME: Stomachache, vomiting, diarrhea. Keep your child home if he/she has a stomachache, which is persistent or severe enough to limit his/her activity. If vomiting occurs, keep your child home until he/she can keep food and liquids down. A child with diarrhea should be kept at home. Call your doctor if symptoms are severe or if prompt improvement does not occur. Good handwashing is especially important in stopping the spread of gastrointestinal infections.
