VOTE JOHN TURMEL FOR BRANTFORD MAYOR

I'm John The Engineer Turmel running for mayor of Brantford to set up an online Brantford UNILETS Millennium Resolution C6-compatible Timebank where youth and underemployed can be rewarded for an Hour's community service with 12 Bus Bucks (6 bus tickets), a use-it-or-lose-it resource that can be bartered to get things done for our municipalities, credited to a Bus Bucks Timebank Account at City Hall so you can call on that banked time later to pay for help when you need it. Similar to a babysitting circle except dentists can charge more Hours per hour, a free market. You'll be able to earn Bus Bucks not only shovelling snow but cleaning parks, proctoring the university campus, and helping out the elderly whose "Thank You" on a 1-Hour note is all that's needed to make it treasured by Timebanks everywhere. Elderly and sick receive, sign Thank You and do not work. Start with your own grandma. Every municipal employee, police officer, fireman, the Mayor, a $5/hour Bus Bucks bonus!

With a Bus Bucks Timebank account, you’ll be able to:

- afford public transit;

- afford municipal community centers;

- afford part of your municipal taxes;

- afford part of your purchases in participating stores, 3 stores pledged so far at

- afford overseas accommodations at Timebanks in 58 countries or other municipalities with Timebanks! In 1999, I paid for 39/40 nights in Europe with a timebank IOU for a night back in Canada worth 5 Hours. You will also be able to trade Hours with the world or Bus Bucks in Brantford.

I've emailed 1800 Ontario municipal candidates in towns with buses to see if they'll accept our Bus Bucks credits if we accept theirs and hopefully form a Bus Bucks bandwagon of smarter candidates. Who knows, if the goes viral, it could spread to the whole world's cities with buses.

WHAT YOUTH CAN DO?

If you watch the videos at you'll realize that adults at the Rogers debate were so down-trodden under their debts that they don't care at all about jobs for youth. Kids love it but not one adult was interested and I slammed them for it. So if you want a Bus Bucks Job, you will have to:

- Explain to your family and friends who probably really don't care who they're going to vote for since all the mainstream candidates are all so same the benefits of earning bus tickets.

- Pitch your favorite merchants to take Bus Bucks in this way: "We're organizing a gang of youth to shovel your snow drifts after the plow goes by. Would you give our database of shovelers a 10% or more discount if I them all to shop in your store? Stromboli Pizza, The Station , Minuteman Press, Brantford & Don Warrener's Martial Arts Academies said "sure." Then you say: don't lose the discount, take 10% in Bus Bucks which you can spend elsewhere too. "Sure." Our Brantford Bus Bucks Merchant’s list

- Join to announce you’ll work for Bus Bucks. If you convince a store to take some Bus Bucks, post it and I’ll treasure that as a 5-Hour bill, $60 Bus Bucks, worth a night's accommodations anywhere you find a Timebank in the world.

- Make a sign, sticker, placard saying "I'll work for Bus Bucks, vote Turmel" and wear it and tell everyone why getting a Bus Bucks Job is important to you and I’ll treasure that for a 1-Hour bill when you post it. Only the kids know what Bus Bucks Jobs could mean to youth. Youth have to get the adults to understand how Bus Bucks Jobs help.

IF NOT ELECTED

I’ll help set up a Timebank to help Brantford Youth mobilize to perform the same services paid with “Youth Bucks” that will be honoured in Brantford stores and Timebanks around the world if not by Brantford City Hall. We don’t really need the buses, other timebanks do not have buses yet, though it would sure help.
