MAGIC MOMENTS COSTUME REQUIREMENTS

Step Right Up

Below is a list of what is required for costumes for each lead character, Krewe or musical number in the 2017 Magic Moments production, “Step Right Up.”

Note:

  • Where it says “Costumer will provide” there is no requirement on the part of the cast/actor to help with costuming.
  • Where actors are responsible for costuming themselves this will be indicated.
  • Costumers for each actor/Krewe are listed in parentheses after each entry.

CAST BASIC COSTUME

For ALLCast members except Leads, Carnies, and the ARK and Midway Krewes.

Actors will self-costume as citizens of Haystack, Kansas. These are Midwest townspeople and not fancy City folk. Any kind of everyday attire is fine. We would like some workers as well – mechanic, pizza delivery person, priest, waitress, cowboys. (Mary Jo)

MIDWAY KREWE (This Krewe does not need an additional cast basic costume)

Costumer will provide vest. Actors to provide pants, shirt, shoes, and socks in a variety of colors and styles. Should look like you pulled out whatever was on top of your suitcase. Jeans, basic pants, cargo shorts, polo shirts, oxford shirts, long sleeve shirts, etc are all okay (No leggings, t-shirts, or white clothing please)

RAZZLE KREWE (This Krewe must also provide a cast basic costume)

SiDa: Actor will provide black jazz shoes. Costumer will provide all other items.

Mimes: Actor will provide black pants and black flat shoes. Costumer will provide all other items.

Trapeze Artists: Actor will provide solid bright or neon colored t-shirt or tank top and black flat shoes (no sneakers). Costumer will provide printed pants

ARK KREWE (This Krewe does not need an additional cast basic costume)

Actors will self costume with guidance from costumer. Conservative business attire, shop keepers, a housewife or two, a clergy or two, etc., would be appropriate. We would also like a couple of Hippie looks.Please contact costumer for help with those if you are interested. (Kathy Hayes).

GYPSY KREWE (This Krewe must also provide a cast basic costume)

Actors will provide with some help from costumer. Grunge, groupie, look. Some may have leather vest, or more worn out clothing. (Laura High).

CLOWN KREWE (This Krewe must also provide a cast basic costume)

Actors will provide black shoes. Costumer will provide most other items. Actors may be asked specifically to provide some basic items. (Deanne Guttierez)

TEEN CAST (This Krewe does not need an additional cast basic costume)

Actors will self-costume. All teens are just small town Kansas teens. Please bring an alternative outfit to Costume Parade. No very short skirts, low-cut tops or leggings.

LEAD CHARACTERS

RINGMASTER: Aaron Paschall - Costumer will provide shirt and jacket. Actor to provide khaki or olive colored pants, black shoes and socks. (Carolyn Fantz)

JOSE ERIKSSON/ CLOWN: Tony Rivera – Actor to provide black athletic pants, colored athletic “wicking”shirt, black shoes. Costumer will provide all items added once onstage. (Mary Jo Farr)

MAMA FORTUNA: Angi Mitchell – Actor to provide comfortable shoes. Costumer will provide all other items.(Mary Jo Farr)

JORDAN: Sydney Fairbairn. Costumer will provide Midway Krewe vest. Actor will provide black pants and white button-down shirt. * Actor will also self-costume a “teen” type outfit. (Carol Balmer, Terry Brandl).

LAYLA: Anna Kates. Costumer will provide Midway Krewe vest and other items. Actor will provideskirt withleggings (that will not clash with a red vest)and white long-sleeve shirt. (Carol Balmer).

NADYA: Sarah Woolsey. Actor will provide character shoes. Costumer will provide all other items. (Laura High).

CARNIES: Actors will provide shoes. John will provide tuxedo. Maggie will provide a solid colored shirt. Costumer will provide all other items. (Judy Wyatt).

ANIMAL TRAINER: Hannah Meg Weinraub. Actor will provide a black shirt. Costumer will provide allother items. (Nancy Trammell).

D BROWN: Trish Holt. Actor will self-costume in business type suit attire with help from costumer (Kathy Hayes).

BETTY LOU: Shelley Dominguez. Actor will provide cowboy boots. Costumer will provide all other items. (Nancy Trammell).

SHERIFF/ DEPUTY: Adrian Resendez and Clayton Russell. Costumer will provide shirt and other items. Actor will provide black pants and belt, black dress shoes and socks.

MA & PA KETTLE: Sharon Dawson & Dennis Carbrey. Dennis will provide black shoes and socks. Costumer will provide all other items. (Nancy Trammell).

EARL: Ed Reinhardt. Costumer will provide Midway Krewe vest and tie. Actor will provide black pants, white button-down shirt, black shoes and socks.

MEG ERIKSSON: Carolyn Lohr. Actor will self-costume with guidance from costumer. Well put together clothing, nice, but not too fancy. (Mary Jo Farr)

DONNA JO: Heather Pyle. Actor will self-costume with guidance from costumer – see ARK?. (Mary Jo Farr)

CLYDE/ MAISEY: Alex and Carol Meredith. Actors will provide shoes. Costumer will provide all other items. (Nancy Trammell).

SIDA: Costumers will provide dance costumes for each number. Dancer will provide black character shoes, black sheer tights, black leotard. (Valerie Zeigler, Mary Jo Farr, Judy Wyatt).
