I am an experienced administrator and currently provide effective administration services to the County Library Service in the following capacity:
¨  Maintain the Library accounts of receivables and expenses. This includes receiving orders for the purchasing of supplies, equipment, and library materials; obtaining approvals, placing orders, entering requisitions, and maintaining records and files of expenditures; and verifying invoices.

¨  Attend to minor building maintenance, acting in liaison with building management.
¨  Assist and provide administrative services such as attending Library Board committee meetings, coordinating preparation of manuals and procedures.
¨  Maintain Library records, files and calendars. This includes posting Library announcements and events.
¨  Act as an administrative liaison with internal and / or external sources
¨  To pack and unpack parcels and prepare materials for shelves and display, including accessioning books as necessary.
I have a sound understanding of the need to work within the Service policies and procedures which involves:
¨  To answer the telephone as required including renewal of books, library and general information, electoral roll details, and redirect calls to appropriate staff and/or take messages or appointments.
¨  To maintain library notice boards as required.
¨  To assist in erecting and dismantling exhibitions and displays as required.
¨  Ability to access and support users to access online services such as government websites, application forms, web email accounts and other similar services
My current role requires the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written mediums. I have developed the skill of tailoring my communication style and method to suit different situations. I have learnt the importance of confirming understanding with colleagues when delivering reports and/or sharing information.
I successfully completed a Diploma in Business and Administration last year. I feel this, alongside my practical experience, means I can offer the necessary skills to match the job applied for. I would very much welcome the opportunity to discuss in more detail at interview .
