A3 breed specialist proposed judge – checklist

To be completed by proposing club

In order for member clubs to give full consideration to judges applying for inclusion on the A3 list, the proposing club is required to complete the attached criteria list.

By completing the attached checklist the proposing club confirms that the judge meets the published minimum requirements. If the minimum requirements are not met then an explanation should be given as to any extenuating circumstances and why it is felt that these should be considered by member clubs before reaching a decision.

MINIMUM CRITERIA / YES / NO / If the answer is No please give a brief account below of the exceptional circumstances you feel may be relevant to this application
Has the judge completed a minimum of 90 Labrador breed classes?
(Please note, classes for the qualifying Breed Club cannot be counted as part of these classes)
Have they judged at least 200 Labradors?
Have they judged over a wide geographical area?
Has the judge completed two Breed Club Open Show appointments?
Were there a minimum of 75 dogs present and judged, at the qualifying breed club appointment?
Has the judge bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs when these dogs obtained their first entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book, save under exceptional circumstances?
Has the judge attended and passed a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Judging Procedures?
Are certificates included?

Has the judge attended and passed a “Hands –on Assessment” given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer?

Has the judge attended and passed at least one breed specific seminar in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment?
Are certificates included?
Has the judge attended an Open stake field trial or Open working test and obtained a copy of the event card signed by the chief steward indicating how long the person was at the event.
A judge already awarding CCs in another gundog breed is exempt from this requirement
Have they been approved by the Kennel Club for inclusion in the A2 List?
