I.Objective

In order to promote and develop academic and cultural ties between Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg andthe...... the two institutes agree to work together for their mutual benefit in the following areas:

  1. Exchange of students
  2. Exchange of academic staff
  3. Exchange of information, materials and facilities
  4. Other activities by mutual agreement

II. Activities

The two institutes agree to work together in the following areas:

  1. Exchange of groups of students, individual students, academic staff and members of the institues on an equivalent basis.
  1. Exchange of scientific and technological information, data and facilities.
  1. Annual consultations by written correspondence or visits to agree upon the individual activities that will form part of the cooperation for the coming year. The results of this consultation shall become part of the annual plan.
  1. Cooperative research programmes, in which both institutes have an interest.The individual agreements for this and their financing shall be defined by both universities in supplementary agreements.
  1. Opening up of possibilities to acquire academic degrees. Lecturers and students who wish to take part in this programme must satisfy the qualification requirements for enrolment, as specified by the responsible university. The level of financial support shall be set in each individual case.
  1. Continuation of the graduate and undergraduate programme in Magdeburg and in ...... (delete if notapplicable)

III. Financing

The financing of the joint activities of the institutions involved shall be governed as follows:

  1. International travel costs shall be covered by the delegating institution
  2. The salaries of academics participating in an exchange shall be paid by the home institution.
  3. Students shall pay their tuition fees to their home university...... shall provide an additional sum for the guests from Magdeburg. Otto von Guericke University shall provide an additional sum for the guestsfrom ...... (delete if notapplicable)
  4. The assumption of costs for research programmes shall be defined in separate agreements for each project.
  5. All spending for the joint activities must fall within the budget of the individual institutions and shall only be approved with the prior consent of both parties to the agreement.

IV. Scope

In principle, this framework agreement covers all members of the university and students from every institute and faculty from each university.

V.Notice period

This agreement is valid until the end of the 20.../20...academic year (30 September 20...). An extension to this agreement is only possible if, after a detailed evaluation, both parties to the agreement deem the partnership to be worthwhile and sustainable for both sides. Moreover, planned activities must be set out.

The following applies with regard to the notice period for this agreement:

  1. Immediately, in the event of mutual written agreement between the two universities.
  2. 90 days after receipt of a unilateral declaration by one university, whereby it is required that every effort be made to complete the activities of the ongoing academic year.

VI. Contact persons

The contact persons for this agreement are the Director of the Institute of ...... of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and the Director of the Institute of ...... of ...... or representatives authorized by them in a written addendum to this agreement.
