POST:Reparation Sessional Worker

SALARY:£ 8.00 Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm

£ 9.00 Eves, Weekends and Bank Holidays

1PURPOSE OF THE POST

1.1To work in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool and Lancashire Youth Offending Teams and other agencies to establish and maintain/support appropriate Community Reparation projects.

1.2To manage an allocated case load of referrals from the Statutory and Appropriate Adult Triage Initiative and ensure that these referrals are implemented in line with national Standards for Youth Justice and in line with CANW/YOT policies and procedures.

1.3To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met on each programme.

1.4To work in partnership with others to ensure all Community Reparation Programmes are age appropriate, safe, and have clear learning outcomes for the young person and positively benefit the local community. To promote the welfare and safety of each young person.

1.5To complete appropriate paper work.

2PRINCIPAL DUTIES

2.1Towork with providers towards the development of accredited programmes which provide opportunities for young people to make amends, benefit the community, learn new skills and move into education, training or employment whenever possible.

2.2To liaise with established community reparation projects to ensure that they remain appropriate and provide the necessary support to providers so that they are encouraged to sustain their involvement long term.

2.3To case manage Statutory andTriage Restorative Justice Referrals so that young people are supported to meet the necessary requirements.

2.4To maintain accurate records in line with service policy.

2.5To work within an appropriate Quality Assurance Framework and actively contribute to the monitoring and auditing of the service.

2.6To contribute to the development of public confidence in the Youth Justice

System by identifying and publicising the work of young people as appropriate.

2.7To have a personal responsibility to ensure that person identifiable, confidential or sensitive information is processed in line with the Data Protection Act and should comply with the law, organisational polices and best practice when processing information.

3GENERAL DUTIES
