Camera FAQ

1. Video is out of Focus/Blurry

Reasons:Lens film cover is not yet taken off, or there are dirt or fingerprint on the lens.

Solutions:Tear off lens cover. Use lens tissue to clean the camera lens.

2. Why does my camera keeps restarting (Important)

Reasons: Low power; The locked files have occupied all the space of TF card and the camera tries to reread the card; Your SD card has failed and can no longer record videos.

Solutions: Charge the device until the battery is full (about 2 hours). Check if power supply is normal. Format TF card. Use a different SD card (not Sandisk Ultra cards). Seeour guidefor more information on great dash cam cards.

3. Video too Dark and out of Focus

Reasons:Lens need adjustment; wrong exposure values

Solution:Adjust the camera so that you have about 1/3 sky and 2/3 land on the screen, even if it means that you have the car hood in view. Set the EV (exposure value) to +2/3 or if video seems too washed out, try +1/3.

4. Random Loop Times

Reasons:There can be a few reasons why you are experiencing random loop times. 1) You might have a defective unit. 2) You may be using a wrong or defective SD card. 3) Motion detection doesn’t work correctly. 4) Your G-sensor is too sensitive.

Solutions:To find out if it is a card issue, try to reformat the SD card you use or try a different SD card. If that fails, try to turn off the G-sensor and motion detection. If nothing still, you may have a defective unit. Contact your manufacturer or retailer for warranty support.

5. Card Full Error

Reasons:You might have a defective SD card or your SD card is not completely deleting video files

Solutions: When deleting video files from the SD card on a computer, make sure you delete the files from the trash as well (while the SD is still connected to the computer). If you still have this problem, try to use a different SD card.

6. Camera Is Not Turning On

Reasons:You might be using a wrong power cable, or there is an internal error in the camera.

Solutions:Try a different power cable; check if it’s seated correctly and there is power going to the 12V socket. If that fails, you may have a problem with your camera.

7. Error Screen: SD Card Needs Formatting

Reasons:Wrong or defective SD card, format issue, or a wrong file format

Solutions: In most cases it means there is a SD card issue. Try to use a different SD card, or format your existing card to FAT32.

8. Loop Record Is Not Working

Reasons:Bad or incorrect memory card

Solutions:You need to try a different SD card. Make sure you are using a name-brand memory card such as Transcend High Endurance 32GB.

9. Date and Time Resets

Reasons:The camera has run out of power. The DP200 does not have a small coin battery to maintain the time/date/settings and uses only the energy in the capacitors. The power runs out in a few days, and everything will reset.

Solutions:Use the camera more frequently.

10. White LCD Screen

Reasons:Bad update. Problems with firmware. Camera might be overheating.

Solutions:Reset the device (using a pin in the reset hole). If that doesn’t work, update the firmware.

  1. Poor Video Quality

Reasons:Dash camera is out of focus or your SD card doesn’t have enough writing speed.

Solutions:Clean the windshield and camera lens and adjust the position of dash cam. Adjust the lens.

12. Does Not Start Recording

Reasons:It is a rare problem and there is no known explanation.

Solutions:There is no solution. You can manually press the ON button to turn on the camera if this happens to you.

13. Camera Won’t Turn On

Reasons:This could be related to battery. You also may have a defective SD card or unit.

Solutions:Remove the battery, remove the SD card, and do a hard reboot. If that doesn’t fix the issue, try a different SD card.

14. Camera keeps rebooting and then shows memory card error

Reasons:Defective or incompatible SD card

Solutions:Transcend 400x and Samsung EVO U3 are recommended cards for the Opia 2. Other cards may not be fully compatible. Use a different SD card, better a recommended SD card.

15. Not Starting in Cold Weather

Reasons:Temperature is too low for camera to start and operate normally. In cold weather conditions (under -10°C) camera does not start.

Solutions:Camera will warm up and start. Operating temperature is from -10°C to 60°C.

16. Camera is Stuck on the recording Screen

Reasons:Firmware or Hardware Issue--connection problem between PCB and sensor board.

Solution: Reset the camera. While the camera is off, use a paperclip and hold the reset button down while plugging the power cable back in. Hold the reset button for 15 seconds and release. Wait for 10 seconds and restart the camera. See if the issue is fixed.

17. How to lock the current file?
