2.  a brief statement of purpose that summarizes your important contributions to the behavior-analytic discipline and/or behavior-analytic community involvement to date (two single-spaced pages maximum, 1” margins and Times New Roman 12-point font or Arial 11-point); and

3.  a current CV/resume.

The application must also include a brief letter of recommendation from an MS ABA program practicum partner supervisor that must be emailed directly to Michelle “Lani” Shiota () by 5pm Monday, March 21, 2016.

Eligibility Requirements

The student must have formal graduate student standing in the Master’s of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis program within the Department of Psychology; must be making acceptable and timely progress toward the completion of the MS ABA degree; and must be enrolled as a full-time student.

Application Process

1.  The application and description of the award are emailed to faculty and graduate students in the Department of Psychology.

2.  The student completes the application and emails it to the chair of the Department of Psychology’s Awards Committee, Michelle “Lani” Shiota.

3.  The student asks an MS ABA program practicum partner supervisor to write a brief letter of recommendation evaluating the student’s (a) contributions and potential for future contributions to the behavior-analytic discipline and/or contributions to behavior-analytic community involvement; and (b) the student’s progress toward completing the Master’s degree.

4.  For 2016, the deadline for electronic submission of all materials is 5pm on Monday, March 21.

Selection Process

1. The Department of Psychology Awards Committee and the MS ABA program director will review all submitted materials and select the recipient.

2. The award is intended to recognize the accomplishments of a master’s level student who is demonstrating overall excellence in the MS ABA program including contributions to the applied behavior analysis discipline and community involvement reflecting application of behavior-analytic competency.

Award Distribution

The recipient will be honored at the annual end-of-the-year Psychology Department celebration. The award amount is $1500. All applicants will be notified by April 8, 2016 and funds will be awarded during the Fall 2016 semester. Any impact of this award on the student’s financial aid support will be the student’s responsibility.
