Technical Services Specialist

TECHNICAL SERVICES SPECIALIST

Acme-Hardesty Co. located in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania is excited to announce a newly-created position for a Technical Services Specialist to support growth initiatives in the Personal Care Market – with key focus on surfactants and preservatives. The position will work heavily with Field Sales, customers, suppliers and tollers to bring technical leadership to provide solutions and production chemistry.

Primary functions include:

·  Provide application support to customers to penetrate new accounts and solidify existing accounts

·  Recommend product formulation and product application at customers

·  Participate in product trials as needed

·  Provide technical advice/recommendation to sales team including develop tools and program to improve product selection process and sales efficiencies

·  Develop technical brochure/presentation catering to customer/market needs

·  Build and maintain relationships to the North American Personal Care community, including customers, suppliers and end users

·  Support regulatory compliance and quality control

·  Attend tradeshows, conferences and association meetings

·  Provide technical leadership for development, scale up and production with tollers

·  Participate in search, evaluation and selection of tollers and laboratories

Skills and Qualifications:

·  Experience in developing and formulating products for the personal care market

·  Experience in both lab and customer environments

·  Ability to effectively communicate with customers to question and identify technical needs and industry trends

·  Effective communication and presentation skills both externally and internally with all levels of the organization

·  Experience in managing technical projects with a history of successful implementation

·  Proven problem solving capabilities leading to viable and successful solutions

·  Adaptable to continuous change

·  Able to work independently

·  Ability to travel an average of 50%

Education and Experience:

·  Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or closely related

·  7+ years in a technical role primarily focused on Personal Care market with special consideration given to surfactants and preservative formulation

·  Strong existing network within the North American Personal Care market place

·  Member of SCC or equivalent society would be an advantage
