THS Pre-Engineering Academy
Application
The Academy is a three year program of study combining science, math and technology courses and the principles of STEM- science, technology, engineering and math. Students will be introduced to practical applications of learned concepts, including designing and buildingstations. Students are introduced to various areas of concentration in the engineering field.
Students must maintain a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive Academy status at
Graduation.
Prerequisites/Requirements:
Students must be in Grades 10-12
Students must have earned a letter grade of C or higher in the following courses:
- Algebra 1
- Geometry
- Physics of Earth and Space
Required Course Selections:
Pre-Engineering Technology 1
Pre-Engineering Technology 2
Pre-Engineering Technology 3
Pre-calculus
Physics
Chemistry
Two electives must be chosen from upper level science, math, technology education, orinformation technology. These courses must be approved for each student by the THS Academy Advisory Board.
Completed Application Must Include (January 29th):
- High school transcript (see your guidance counselor)
- Two letters of recommendation from current teachers
- A personal letter from you explaining why you would like to be part of this program
