REYC General Meeting Minutes 1-14-11
Membership - John Cashman: We need to vote on Steven and Leslie Gaul and Dave Gent. Membership voted, all in favor. Two new members were introduced Brian & Teresa Reed, and Kevin Minton.
Rec. Secretary - Liz: Minutes read from last month's meeting. Steve R. made a motion to accept minutes as read second by John T, all in favor.
Treasurer - Jill: No profit and loss report this month. Jill will be collecting dues. We had $5,000.00 left in the check book. Dues must be post marked by 1/31/2011. Slip agreement needs to be signed and you must have proof of insurance. Jill and John will be out of town for two weeks. Ken Z. and Karen F. can collect dues or you can put it in Jill's box. Jill will hand out membership cards at slip assignment day. Jerry W. asked if there has been any deposits for the display case. John Cashman stated he would check the register to see if any merchandise was rung up in the past month. We have $92,000.00 in the Money Market and CD'S.
Commodore's Report - Jerry S: 1st Lady Liz and I have been attending Comm. Balls and having a great time.
Vice Commodore - Bob Carr: Not Present. Jerry S. stated there will be a work party tomorrow at 9:00am. We will be cleaning the ceiling tiles and making sure duct work is connected to the vents.
Rear Commodore - Karen F: No report Ken and Karen are on a cruise.
Fleet Captain - Irene W:Booze Cruise was attended by several people here. The club had to pay $25.00 towards the Booze Cruise and a great time was had by all. Irene thanked everyone for the get well cards. Irene talked about the Cruises scheduled so far for the year. Slip assignment day starts at 3:00pm on 2/13/2011.
Corresponding Secretary - Lisa Moore:Harry won the 50/50It was $78.00If you have any information that you would like put in the Newsletter please contact Lisa.
Bar - John C: Crystal and Kara will work alternating weekends bartending.
Kitchen/Entertainment Chairman - Judy Z: Please contact Judy to schedule an event or function in the club house. Judy thanked everyone for their help. The kitchen does need to be cleaned. Jill thanked Judy and her helpers for dinner.
Commodore Jerry thanked John A. for having his Christmas Party at the club.
Bi Laws - John T: No by-law changes.
Health and Welfare - Jerry W: Irene recently had surgery. Jim Smith from Middle River passed away a memorial service will be held at Middle River in 2-3 weeks 1/22/2011.
Display Case - Donna M:Please ring merchandise through the register. We are missing some merchandise (5 gold belt buckles and 4 2009 opening day shirts).
Board Report - Ken Z: No report
Old Business: The organizing committee will be having a meeting at the end of January of beginning of February regarding Dinghy Poker Run. Jerry W. and Donna will be attending.
New Business - Mark W: Red Eye will be holding its 5th annual Bull Roast at Columbus Gardens on 3/11/2011 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. The cost is $40.00 per person, with top shelf open bar.Mark talked about the menu. Mark needs help with the wheels. There will be a sports auction to include 3 signed Ravens Jersey's. Music provided by a DJ.
Good of the club: Jerry S. still looking for people to sponsor Friday night events. There will be a steak dinner and Karaoke on 2/4/2011 you must RSVP. Opening Day raffle tickets will be given out at Slip Assignment. John C. spoke about the adult puppet show on 2/19/2011 which includes a Spaghetti Dinner from 6:30pm-8:00pm.Tickets are $25.00 per person.
