Listen, watch, read instructions, try hard, copy, try a different way.
Who helps us learn?
Parents, teachers, friends - has a friend taught you how to skip or sing a new rhyme?
Do grown-ups learn new things? Does it cost a lot of money to learn something new?
Learn to drive, learn to ski, train to be something like a mechanic or a dentist.

What do good learners need to be good at?
Listening, asking questions, watching, having a go, trying again.
Has anyone learnt to swim? Can anyone ride their bike without stabilisers? How did you learn to ride your bike etc?
£££ What helps us to learn - do we need rewards and sanctions? What about financial incentives – do they work? If someone offered to pay you e.g. to swim a length of the swimming pool would that help you or not?

What does a good learner do?
Watch, listen, try, copy, concentrate or focus.
What do learners need? Is our classroom a good place to learn? How can we make sure it is a good place to learn?

What happens if you make a mistake?! Try again.
What happens if you get stuck? Have another go, ask for help.
