LOCATION:Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, UK

HOURS:Full time, 37.5 hours per week

SALARY: £18560per annum

CONTRACT: Permanent contract,subject to satisfactory completion of a six month probationary period.You must live within an easy commuting distance.

The role

The Web and Digital Marketing Officer’s role will involve being caretaker for The Vegan Society’s website, with help from colleagues. The role will involve working with staff to contribute to wide-spanning campaigns as well as digital ones.

The successful candidate will have experience of website content management systems along with analytical monitoring and evaluation tools. Experience of liaising with external suppliers is a must, as this role will involve working closely with our external digital agency.

Good graphic designs skills are also key for this role which offers an opportunity to use your skills to develop The Vegan Society’s website and to help to grow the society and encourage more people to go and stay vegan through our outreach campaigns.

Web and Digital Marketing Officer

DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Websites

  • Help to create and edit content ideas – write, produce and liaise with the rest of the Communications team to agree, maintain and develop content on the website ensuring that it is engaging, up-to-date and correctly branded.
  • Co-ordinate colleagues to ensure that their web content is kept up to date.
  • Collaborate with designers and web developers on specific projects.
  • Utilise digital marketing tools and analytics to increase visitors and data capture from our website.
  • Establish new ways to encourage people to visit, interact with and join The Vegan Society.
  • Use graphic design software tools to illustrate digital content
  • Support colleagues to devise ways to recruit new members, donors and customers utilising digital marketing techniques.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Working with the Digital Content Officer report on the performance of our website and social media channels using appropriate analytical tools to establish relevant key performance indicators.
  • Provide regular reports to the Head of Communications.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The knowledge, skills, and/or ability required to carry out the role effectively (and which may be developed) are listed below.

ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of vegan issues.
  • Working knowledge of a CMS system ideally but not limited to Drupal.
  • Understanding of corporate identity and branding
  • Knowledge of HTML and CRM systems
  • Knowledge of integrated digital marketing techniques such as SEO.
  • Ability to use Google analytics to interpret the data into meaningful reports among other digital marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of digital advertising via Google Adwords, Facebook, etc

  • Understanding of legal issues involved with the creation and maintenance of websites.

Education / qualifications & training
  • Appropriate experience in a directly related post or relevant alternative experience.

  • Experience of liaising with external suppliers.
