National Anthem Auditions to be Held at Weinberg

FREDERICK, Md., Tuesday, June 6, 2017 — The Frederick Arts Council will once again hold open auditions for a singer to perform the National Anthem at its annual Art in the Park event. Auditions will be held at the Weinberg Center for the Arts on Wednesday, June 28 at 6:30pm, prior to the Weinberg’s previously-announced Flying Dog Film Series screening of “Top Gun.” Those who wish to audition should contact Gabriella at to reserve a slot.

The 6:30pm auditions coincide with the Weinberg Center’s monthly Flying Dog Film Series happy hour. Auditions are free and open to the public to attend. Tickets for “Top Gun” are $5-$7 and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the Box Office at 301.600.2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick St.

Art in the Park is an annual event that fuses sports and the arts. Creative activities are planned to promote and celebrate the visual and performing arts, and the evening concludes with fireworks. The 11th annual Art in the Park event, sponsored by the Frederick Arts Council, will be held on Friday, September 1 beginning at 6:00pm. The game, which starts at 7:00pm, will see the Frederick Keys play the Potomac Nationals.
