*All Categories are a joint girls and boys event

The Order of Merit is supported by the Argyll & Bute Council, Active Schools and Argyll & Bute Golf Union.

Junior Conveners and ClubGolf Coordinators at all golf clubs have been sent a copy of the full Rules.
For player’s benefit, here are the main important points to note:

Entry into Order or Merit Events:

1.  All events in the ClubGolf Order of Merit (OOM) are offering a Handicap (Nett Score) competition for junior players of all handicaps (girls & boys) and a mini-medal or ClubGolf Flag Event organised for pre-handicap juniors and juniors with handicap 36+.

2.  All Entry Forms for each OOM Event will be dealt with by host clubs.

3.  Players do not have to be participating in a ClubGolf junior coaching programme to enter any of the events, however we are also encouraging ClubGolf delivering golf clubs to promote all the events as a great opportunity for their junior players.

4.  The OOM events shall be open to all junior players (girls & boys) under 18 years old on January 1st 2013.

5.  Only juniors from golf clubs that are a member club of Argyll & Bute Golf Union or falling within the Argyll & Bute Local Authority boundary (e.g. Helensburgh, Cardross) will be eligible for OOM points and prizes. However all events will still be open to entries from players out with Argyll & Bute.

6.  The host clubs will be responsible for the rules at each OOM Event.

7.  Players finishing in the top 10 places in each of the 4 Categories at each event will gain OOM points.

8.  The results from each event will then count towards the OOM Points Table, managed by ClubGolf and available to view on the ClubGolf website at the following page: www.clubgolfscotland.com/events/regional-events

9.  The ClubGolf OOM Grand Final on Sunday 22nd September, Machrihanish Dunes will be organised by ClubGolf. There will be no limit to the number of players playing in the Grand Final.

10.  The main point of contact for the overall ClubGolf Junior OOM is ClubGolf Regional Manager Sean Laird, available on or 07885 965 581.

OOM League Table:

11.  There will be a season-long OOM League Table running for each of the following 4 Categories, culminating in an OOM Grand Final: Category 1 (Handicaps Scratch to 18), Category 2 (Handicaps 19 to 36), Category 3 ClubGolf Flag Events (H'caps 36 to 45 and pre-handicap juniors), Scratch OOM (only gross scores to count).

Scoring Points:

12.  Points will be awarded in each regular OOM event for players finishing in top 10 places of each of the 4 Categories listed above

13.  Regular OOM events points system: 1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points, 3rd = 8, 4th = 7, 5th = 6, 6th = 5, 7th = 4, 8th = 3, 9th = 2, 10th place = 1 point.

14.  The OOM Grand Final at Machrihanish Dunes will carry double points: 1st place = 20 points, 2nd place = 18 points etc, down to 10th place = 2 point.

15.  Points will be added up for every player competing in 1 or more regular OOM event.

16.  Only players who have competed in 1 or more regular events prior to the OOM Grand Final are eligible to win the Overall OOM Categories at the end of the season.

17.  However other players may play in the OOM Grand Final having not played in any previous events and be eligible for the individual event prizes on the day, they will just not be eligible for the end of season OOM prizes.

18.  The OOM Grand Final is for Category 1 and Category 2 players only (the OOM Scratch Prize will also be completed at this event). There will be no ClubGolf Flag Event at the OOM Grand Final.

Prizes:

19.  ClubGolf prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in all 4 Categories at each OOM event (host clubs may also present additional prizes)

20.  ClubGolf prizes will be awarded to the top 3 players in Category 1, Category 2 and Scratch at the end of season OOM Grand Final.
