Medieval African Kingdoms

Pyramid Project

Since we are learning about the major medieval kingdoms of Africa, you can build a pyramid, as shown in class, to illustrate the 2 Kingdoms and 1 other aspect of African Civilization such as Important Leaders, Geography, the Gold-Salt-(and Slave) Trade, Griots and Oral History, or the Spread of Islam in Africa.

A pyramid can be made by drawing a simple X on a piece of paper. Use a square piece of paper no smaller than 8” and no larger than 12”.

Cut along one of the legs stopping at the center. Fold along the other lines and tuck the loose flap underneath one of the other sides. A little glue or tape will hold the pyramid in shape.
