Meet Referee: Meet Director: Terri Morse
Location: Pecos High School Natatorium

Facility: The meet will be conducted in a 6 lane, 25 yard pool with non-turbulent lane lines. Colorado
Electronic Timing, Colorado Touch Pads and Hy-Tek Meet Manager will be used run the meet.
Sloped starting blocks and backstroke turn flags are in place. Designated warm-up and warm
down area will be available throughout the meet. Average water depth for the competition
course is 4 feet at the start and turn end of pool. The competition course has not been certified
in accordance with104.2.2C(4). Separate dressing rooms, showers and lavatories for men and
women are available.
Meet Schedule: Warm-ups: 7:30-9:30 am (Note: Designated warm-up times will be assigned after
entries have been received).
Coaches Meeting: 9:45 am
Meet Starts: 10:00 am
Eligibility: Swimmer’s age as of 12/17/2016 shall determine his/her age for the entire meet. Open to all
registered USA swimmers. No entries will be accepted unless the entrant is a registered athlete
member with USA Swimming, Inc. The complete USA Swimming registration number for each
individual must be placed on the team entry form. Every club entered as a team in a West Texas
Swimming sanctioned meet must be a member of USA Swimming, Inc.
Rules: 2016 USA Swimming rules for competitive swimming will govern the meet. In accordance with
safety regulations, the pool deck is strictly limited to swimmers, coaches, officials, and meet
personnel only. Parents and other spectators must remain in the spectator area in the stands
above the pool deck.
Racing Start Proficiency: Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member
coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within
the water. When unaccompanied by a member- coach, it is the responsibility of the
swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
Recording Devices: Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in
changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.
Deck Changing: Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other
than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is strongly
discouraged.
Meet Operations: Flyover starts will be used in timed final events when appropriate.
Timers: Each team participating may be called on to help provide timers.
Concessions: A concession stand will be available. Hospitality will be available for officials, coaches and
timers.
Entries: Limit: Swimmers are limited to the IMR events for their age group.
Deck Entries: Deck entries will be accepted from 8:00 – 9:00 am at the Clerk of Course. Deck
entries will be accepted for empty lanes only. New heats will not be created for deck entries.
Coaches, please notify the Clerk of Course with any scratches.
Entry Times: Entry times must be submitted to the 100th of a second. All entry times must be
current times, provable in the USA Swimming, Inc. SWIMS database or entered at a “no time”.
Penalty for entering with an unproved time will be removal of the swimmer from that event
without refund of entry fee.
Entry Fees: Entry fee is $4.50 per individual event. There is a $2.50 athlete surcharge. Late
entries and deck entries are $9.00/event. Make checks payable to PAC.
Deadlines: All entries must be turned in by Friday, December 9th. All entries should be submitted on a
master team entry form or on Hy-Tek Team Manager. Teams entering more than 5 swimmers
must submit their entries via Hy-Tek Team Manager or pay a fine of $50. Please include your
complete USS ID# on all entries.

Liability and Sanction: This meet is held under the Sanction of USA Swimming. U.S. Swimming, West
Texas Swimming, Inc., Pecos Aquatic Club, Pecos Barstow Toyah ISD and or its coaches and
officials shall be free from any and all liabilities or claims for damages or harm arising by
reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the meet or while traveling to or from the
meet. Damage to a facility, when proved, will cause the offending swimmer, if unattached, or
the offending swimmer’s club, if attached, to be held accountable for repairs.
Awards: No ribbons will be awarded for individual events. Trophies will be awarded for the top three
IMR scores in each age group. A swimmer must compete in all of the IMR events in their
age group to be eligible to score. A disqualification in an event will prevent them from scoring.
Scoring: Scoring will be based on the following age groups: 8 & Under; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14 and
15 and over.
Please NO food or drinks on carpeted areas or dressing rooms. All food must be eaten in the lobby, in the bleachers upstairs or on pool deck that is NOT carpeted. Please remind your swimmers of this and help us keep our carpeted areas clean. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
