Artist - Collage Poster Info Sheet with Rubric
A collage is a visual representation of ideas, emotions and understanding in response to a specific topic, concept, situation or issue. Although a collage may include some words, it is usually composed of a variety of visual materials such as photographs, magazine pictures, clip art, quotes, scraps of cloth and paper, beads, items pertaining to the poster’s subject, etc.Assignment: Create a collage poster for your novel. You may choose to focus on a character, theme, symbolism, scenes, a couple, etc., or your collage poster may cover the entire novel.
Guidelines:
- The poster needs to be a foam board poster but I do not want the giant 3-panel foam boards. This is for your benefit, since it will be sturdier for the collage items. Do not use the flimsy poster board. The poster cannot be smaller than 22” x 28” (which is standard poster size that you can purchase at Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, etc.). Failure to meet this requirement is a 10 point deduction.
- Do not use staples.
- Do not have tape or glue showing. Glue sticks do not work well because they smear and “bleed” through paper. Glue guns and rubber cement work best.
- I will take up to 5 points off for grammatical errors, so please proof your work.
- Grading: The project will count as your midterm exam grade, so it needs to reflect English 2 midterm exam quality. During your midterm exam time, you and your peers will do a Gallery Tour of your projects.
- Due Dates - The due dates for the project are 12/7/15 (A-Day) and 12/8/15 (B-Day). There will be a 10 point deduction per day late.
- The rubric needs to be turned in with the project. I will NOT accept the project without a signed rubric.
