We are thankful to each every one of you who do all the work to “git ‘r done”. It truly takes every one; and no ministry for The Lord is unimportant or non-essential. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
On Wednesdays, our Family Life Center Gym is opened at 4:30 for various youth, children, and adult activities; and Classes for children, youth, and adults all begin at 7:00. Professor Paul has started a series of lessons on “Prophecy”; and you are certain to be challenged to live for The Lord in these last days.
The West End Youth Group will be attending the Xtreme Youth Conference in Gatlinburg during the Christmas Holidays in December. This conference is operated and presented by the Youth Ministries of The First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia (Johnnie Hunt, Pastor). You are invited and encouraged to help sponsor one or more of these great young people with the expenses. Due to the fact that many of them will miss several days work during the school break, it is suggested that a full scholarship could be $200.00; and any portion of that will be greatly appreciated.
We have a couple of fund raisers in the hopper; such as a hot dog roast around the bon fire followed by an outdoor Bible Study at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20 (weather permitting, or course; and if not, we can always go inside); and our “Fall Festival” at 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 24. The Fall Festival is dated October 24, since Halloween comes on Sunday; and it has been deemed wise to postpone service that night. (Most people will “celebrate” Halloween on Saturday night; but those for whom you probably need to be home will come around on Sunday).
If you would like to reserve the Gym or Kitchen facilities for parties or meetings, please Pastor Tom or Secretary Charlene as soon as possible. There is a sign up calendar on the wall next to the secretary’s office which you can check for previous reservations. Be planning ahead for your Christmas or Thanksgiving parties and family gatherings. This also includes borrowing tables and chairs.
As we prepare to take the hyper-leap into internet broadcasting, and improve our radio “bradcasting” equipment; several of our control room staff will be attending an all-day audio/video seminar in Knoxville on Saturday, October 23.

Please be certain you are correctly registered to vote – AND THEN SHOW UP AND CAST YOUR VOTE in this very important State and National Election. EARLY VOTING (at the County Election Office) BEGINS OCTOBER 13 (four machines, very little waiting). This election will appoint1/3 of the U.S. Senators (neither of ours), the entire U.S. Congress, our state Governor, our state Representative, and our state Senator – as well as City Officials (Mayor and Aldermen). These are all people who exercise authority over us and make decisions affecting all of us!

SO, LET’S MAKE IT PLAIN
Our children’s ministries are always on the move; and it is a truly beautiful thing to see. Lisa has many wonderful people who take care of so many of the details (but, she is never satisfied and is always looking for more). It is a real thrill to see the wonderful things that are being done with, in, and through our Children’s Church. You are certainly welcomed and encouraged to make sure your children attend these classes on Sunday Morning at 11:20, Sunday Evening at 6:20, and Wednesday Evening at 7:00. The lessons are designed on the level of the children, accompanied by activities and crafts, and taught by wonderful Christian leaders with caring help by a tremendous staff. We have seen several of them saved down through the last forty years; and in a remarkable ministry of self-perpetuation, many of the very ones who are leading them today came through the Children’s Church yesterday and what a tomorrow they can have because you cared and worked and supported this tremendous ministry.

We continually thank The Lord for this computerized sign ministry up on “our corner”. Now a week goes by without someone telling us they read it; some check it out every day as they travel to and from their work. We now have the part that needs to be installed to fix that little glitch as soon as we can find someone brave enough to go up on the ladder to install it.
