- Board has approved the amalgamation of the Research Committee (RC) and Research Working Group (RWG) under the Academic Section, but merger won’t happen until after CAEP
- New group will also have a new reporting structure
- Most of the RWG members are comfortable with the amalgamation, but felt that there was an advantage to reporting directly to the Board rather than going through AS
- Any concerns with this?
Will RC under AS require more effort because with grant and abstract process reviews, etc.?
- JP: yes, more time for the one committee, but less time than the sum of the two working separately
Is the work overload seasonal?
- JP: yes, to a certain extent but there are also some long-term projects (review of criteria for grants, abstracts, etc)
