With Cheilanthes feei, Pellaea atropurpurea, Artemisia, Erigeron, Eriogonum, Verbascum thapsus, Bouteloua gracilis,&c. Only four plants seen, none yet flowering.

Open juniper woodland, southeast slope, gravelly clay with rhyolitic boulders, most plants in shade. With Erigeron, Lappula occidentalis var. occidentalis, Gilia cf. flavocincta, Bouteloua curtipendula, Bouteloua gracilis, Lycurus, Opuntia phaeacantha, Nolina, Yucca cf. glauca, Rhus trilobata, Quercus, Pinus edulis,&c. West side of the Rio Grande, southeast of White Rock on the Red Dot Trail, 4.7 miles SSE of the junction of NM Hwy 502 and NM Hwy 4, 4.3 miles NNE of Montoso Peak, 35.82091ºN 106.19688ºW (WGS84), elev. 5550 ft. West slope above small stream, in shade of juniper, gravelly soil among basaltic boulders. With Glandularia bipinnatifida var. brevispicata, Bouteloua gracilis, Poa fendleriana, Artemisia tridentata, Rhus trilobata, Fendlera rupicola, Forestiera, Pinus edulis,&c. Sparse. Pollen large, ovoid, irregularly colpate. Some plants in the area with abortive siliques.
