Dear EKF members and competitors,
The French Karate Federation is pleased to welcome you in Paris for the 4th European Championships for regions next 3 and 4 June 2006.
With the support of all the main French institutions, we will welcome all the greatest countries involved in karate, a popular sport practiced all over the world and this is a real honor for all of us.
For sure it will be a spectacular martial show of high quality and a great celebration of karate.

CATHEDRALENOTRE-DAMEDE PARIS
Masterpiece of gothic architecture, the cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris,imaginated by Bishop Maurice de Sully was built between the 12th and the 14th centuries (1163-1345). The French road distances are established from the "0 km" point located on the square in front of the cathedral entrance. You can also visit the Treasure of Notre-Dame.
BASILIQUE DU SACRE COEUR DE MONTMARTRE
Church built by public subscription after the 1870 defeat in the Franco-Prussian war.
The basilica was consecrated in 1919.
Architect : Abadie (1875-1912).
TOUR EIFFEL
One of the most famous monument in the world (324 meters, 10,100 tons), the EiffelTower was built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 for the World Fair, where it was the star attraction.

SAINTE CHAPELLE
Jewel of gothic architecture, the Sainte Chapelle was built at Saint-Louis' request during the 13th century to house Christ's crown of thorns.

Architects: Chalgrin, Joust, Blouet. Sculptors: Cortot, Rude, Etex, Pradier, Lemaire.
On the 11th of November 1920, the tomb of an unknown soldier killed in the Great War was inaugurated here to remember the 1,500,000 killed in World War I. Since 1922 and even during World War II, every day at 6.30pm, the commemorative flame is revived. 802 associations of veterans take care of these ceremonies.
STADIUM
The Halle Georges Carpentier Stadium is one of the biggest polyvalent gymnasium. This stadium is part of an important sport center also including football and rugby field and athletism track.
In addition to fixed row of seats, the Halle is equipped with telescopic tribunes, with a total capacity of 4272 seats. Everything has been set up in order for the spectators, press media as well as athletes to feel good : a reception area, a restaurant, a nursery, two press rooms and a conference room have been arranged.
Since its official opening in 1988 after renovation, the Halle Carpentier Stadium welcomes each year thousand of sporting events, some are of international level
The most important sports are basket ball, volley ball, handball, gymnastics and of course all martial arts activities.

In accordance with EKF rules, competitors must be the age below on the first day of competition:
- KUMITE: 18 years old
- KATA: 16 years old

The teams registered shall be from the list of regions approved by EKF Executive Committee for each EKF country member.
Participation of more than one team per region and category will not be allowed.

Explanation of the number of teams allowed that correspond to the number of regions assigned:
Example with 3 regions assigned:
The alternatives of participations are:
- 3 different regions, each bringing 4 teams,
- 12 different regions, each bringing 1 team.
Between these two limits, all other participation combinations are possible with the only condition that one region cannot participate with more than 1 team per category.
Example with 1 region assigned:
The possible alternatives of participations are the following:
- 1 region bringing 4 teams,
- 2 regions, each bringing 2 teams,
- 3 regions, each bringing 1 team and 1 bringing 2 teams,
- 4 regions, each bringing 1 team.
There is always the limitation of no more than 1 team per region and category.
ACCESS
The organisation will provide the participating delegations with the following accreditations:

INSURANCE
It is mandatory that all the participants and members of delegations should have their own medical insurance and personal trip insurance.
The delegation heads have to sign the enclosed term of responsibility and return this on deadline 10 May 2006.

Valid passport and a visa is necesary to enter in France for the following countries :

A system of transportation will be organised to transfer your delegation from airport/train station of arrival to your accommodation place. For 1 to 12 persons :
18 € per person for the arrival transfer form the airport/ train station (Charles de Gaulle or Orly, Gare du Nord …) to the hotel. Identical price for the return (transfer hotel<-> airport/train station).
In order to be able to take advantage of it, we thank you for letting us know as soon as possible your travelling schedule (go and return) as well as the number of participants (officials and sportsmen).
For 12 persons to 18 persons:
350 € for the entire group for 1 trip.
For 18 to 30 persons :
310 € for the entire group for 1 trip.
