NASHVILLE TEEN WINS RADIO DISNEY'S N.B.T. (NEXT BIG THING)

Radio Disney’s listeners have voted and 15-year-old singer/songwriter Jasmine Sagginario of Nashville, Tennessee has been named Radio Disney's N.B.T. (Next Big Thing), it was announced today by Radio Disney’s Ernie D. The recurring multi-platform programming feature puts the spotlight on young recording artists and provides them with national broadcast and online exposure. Since the launch of its second season in September, Radio Disney’s N.B.T. introduced five unsigned acts -- Jasmine, Gabi Wilson, Josh Golden, Kropp Circle and Cymphonique -- and invited its kid and family audience to look, listen and vote online or via text for their favorite new artist.

As winner of Radio Disney’s N.B.T., Jasmine’s single, a pop song entitled "Make A Movie," will be featured in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "StarStruck" and on the "StarStruck" soundtrack. Additionally, a second single by Jasmine (song TBD) will be featured on the Walt Disney Records' Radio Disney Jams 12 CD, and she will be the opening concert act for worldwide sensation Justin Bieber at Radio Disney concerts in Los Angeles and Celebration, Florida.

Today, when Ernie D called Jasmine on-air to give her the news, she said, "I'm shaking and crying and screaming at the same time…I feel so blessed and honored.” Ernie also surprised Jasmine with the news that her original song, "Make a Movie," will be featured in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "StarStruck," and that she would be opening twice for Bieber. She let out another scream and said, "Oh my goodness! I'm so excited. I love his music!"

Jasmine’s victory celebration begins when she joins Ernie D in-studio for an acoustic performance of "Make a Movie" and "Nothing Left to Say," airing MONDAY, DECEMBER 14 (6:00 p.m., ET/3:00 p.m., PT) on Radio Disney. The performances will also be featured on RadioDisney.com. Later that evening she will take the stage at Radio Disney’s concert at Citadel Outlets in Los Angeles, opening for N.B.T. Season One artists and recently signed Hollywood Records recording artists Allstar Weekend and Island Def Jam star Justin Bieber. To round out her first week as Radio Disney's N.B.T. winner, Jasmine will open again for Bieber at a Radio Disney Orlando concert at Celebration Town Center's "Now Snowing Nightly" event on Saturday, December 19.

Kelly Edwards, Director of Music, Radio Disney said, "Jasmine is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter whose style truly represents the Radio Disney brand." She added, "Jasmine has immediately connected with our listeners and the Disney Channel audience, and we are thrilled to have her represent Radio Disney as our N.B.T."
