There are 3 different clearing houses to help you find a placement for your patient – this includes individual counseling, intensive outpatient tx, day treatment, residential treatment, and medical detox. Remember that community groups and 12 step programs might also be useful adjuncts.

The ADP Resource Center maintains two toll-free, statewide telephone numbers for California residents needing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and treatment information, publications or library services. The Resource Center provides non-emergency information only.

·  ANY client can self-refer to TAP by calling 1.800.750.2727 regardless of whether or not they meet any of the triage priorities.

·  For all Behavioral Health and Social Services Providers. To make a referral, contact 415.538.5500 (M-F, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.). From the time of the assessment, TAP will make every effort to assist and closely follow the client until s/he has been successfully placed into a treatment program.

3. SAHMSA Treatment Facility Locator: The U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) provides a toll-free, 24-hour treatment referral service to help you locate nearby treatment options.
