DAY 1: Networking in the Sport & Development Field (1 December)
As the conference will in addition to presentations have workshops in the focal areas of Sport and Peace, Sport and Health, Sport & Policy and CSR and Sport & Environment the local, national and international participants and stakeholders of the conference will have an opportunity to meet, share experience and outline the network agenda in the field of Sport for Development and Peace.

DAY 2 and 3: International Conference ( 2-3 December)
The conference will take its lead from the 2nd International Forum on Sport, Peace and Development which took place at the United Nations Office in Geneva in May this year where South Africa has been elected UN Chair for the IWG Sport and Peace. Day 2-3 of the conferencewill focus on Networking and Strategic Planning in the field of Sport, Development and Peace and will in addition to presentations and panel discussion have workshops in the focal areas of Sport and Peace, Sport and Health, Sport & Policy and Sport & Environment. The envisaged outcome is the start of active working groups on the sub themes and the discussionof the topics from national, regional and international viewpoints and take the topics jointly further through research, training, community engagement and policy development. The working group themes are:

Sport and Peace

Sport, Policy and CSR

Sport & Environment and

Physical Activity, HIV and Health.

The conference will host 200 delegates including various national and international guest speakers from 15 countries, from academia, civil society and government representatives and the UN Advisor on Sport for Development and Peace.
