Current Position Database Administrator, CSFB (March 1999)
Credit Suisse First Boston is a leading global investment bank.
Responsible for all aspects of IT for the Corporate Events department. Key tasks.
· Building databases for Conferences
· Creating new systems to reduce time inefficiencies.
· Cutting down paper tasks with the development of electronic forms
· Support of all IT within the department at all levels except server support
· On site IT support at conferences
· Liasing between Corporate Events, clients, outside companies and internally IT departments where IT is involved.
My main task has been to bring the corporate events department up to speed where IT is involved. When I first joined the company the IT structure in place was very poor. At this current moment in time the Corporate Events department is in a good IT support position, with many paper tasks having been removed and users trained on the relevant systems. There is now a template for databases making allowances for all the current types of conferences run so that the build time for a new conference is down to an hour. I have also put into place a meeting and task tracking system which enhances the Outlook messaging interface via Access to allow users to track responses to email in a much more efficient manner. This was put into place to allows users who deal with hundreds of emails a day not lose track of threads in conversations and be able to recall previous messages without trawling many directories.
