Dear Graduating Senior,

Thanks for applying for the Torii Hunter Project Scholarship and congratulations on finishing your high school career. Keep up the hard work as you take the next important step in your education! Before you apply, please review the rest of this page for important details about the application process.

The Torii Hunter Project Scholarship rewards high school graduates with high character that have displayed excellence in the classroom and in their community. Applicants are required to be in their senior year of high school at one of the following schools: Pine Bluff Senior High School, the Andre Agassi Preparatory Academy, or a member of the Orangewood Children’s Home.

A completed application file must contain the following components:

1)  The application form

2)  Student Resume

3)  Character Essay

4)  Statement of Need

Narrative sections of the application must be typed in 12 point, Times New Roman font and may not exceed the word count specified on the application form. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. Please follow all guidelines as outlined on the application form.

Completed applications must be submitted via email to no later than midnight of the deadline date determined by your school or district. Applicants are encouraged to confirm the receipt of their application by calling The Torii Hunter Project at 817-427-4621 prior to the deadline for submission. Confirmation is the student’s responsibility and The Torii Hunter Project is not responsible for lost or late applications. Any applications with missing information, or applications that are improperly formatted, will not be considered.

Award recipients will be notified by a school or district official no later than June 1, 2009. Please do not contact The Torii Hunter Project to check your award status. Torii Hunter Project Scholarships are one time awards of $6,000 to be used to supplement tuition for the recipient at an institution of higher education. All Torii Hunter Project Scholarship awards will be mailed directly to the institution of that students choosing.
