Indicates New Matter
The House assembled at 11:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Proverbs 2:10-11: “For wisdom will come into your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; prudence will watch over you; and understanding will guard you.”
Let us pray. Eternal Father God, during this week, when the way is hard and the hours long, we implore You to be our helper, who never leaves or forsakes us. Remind us of Your nearness, Your faithfulness, and Your strength, for the task ahead. Give us the courage of our convictions to do the right thing for the right reason. Help us to remember those who are needful. Give us Your blessings and peace. Bless our Nation, State, and all who lead and guide us in our duties. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.
Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of Friday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
