- Ability to communicate effectively and enthuse children and young people about books, reading and writing

- Project management and administration skills ( including monitoring and evaluation)
- Organising and time management skills with ability to manage own workload, handle competing demands and meet deadlines
- Ability to manage resources effectively – budgets, volunteers etc as appropriate
- Ability to lead/ contribute to fund raising applications and initiatives
- Ability to work as part of a team
