Main Purpose of Post:To work as an integral member of the College Marketing and Admissions Team taking a lead on social media activities.

Background to the Post:

This role is an exciting opportunity to join Wirral’s No 1 Sixth Form and is an integral position within the college marketing team. Within the role you will be responsible for the day to day running of the college social media content and campaigns across all channels including Facebook and Twitter. You will also undertake wider marketing activity within the department to support the attraction, engagement and recruitment of prospective students and parents to the college.

RESPONSIBILITIES

a)Identification of the key target audiences, demographics and behaviour in order to ensure that the College is represented across key channels and develop content to drive interest, likes/followers, engagement and conversion.

b)Run social media advertising campaigns to target identified groups of stakeholders.

c)Work with the Marketing team to ensure that social media strategy and activity is integrated with other activity, in order to present a consistent brand experience.

d)Identify newsworthy stories from around the business that will make for relevant content for social media channels.

e)Develop online communities, engaging in conversation, responding to comments and promoting relevant content.

f)Identify, recruit and utilise social media champions and organisations (internal and external) to maximise reach and engagement.

g)Using appropriate tools, ensure they are monitoring, listening and responding to all our clients social communities; feeding queries to appropriate people for response where needed and ensure that insight generated is fed back to relevant personnel.

h)Create visuals/media for social media including copy, graphics, photography and video.

i)Work closely with the Head of Marketing to populate and circulate a social content calendar, ensuring all activity is in line with the marketing plan.

j)Develop and implement new initiatives to grow the number of fans and followers on our social networks whilst maintaining a highly engaged community.

k)Produce weekly and monthly social media monitoring reports to keep track of campaign effectiveness.

l)To write copy including good news stories for use across web, social, email and print.

m)To assist with the planning, preparation and running of events for marketing and recruitment purposes.

n)To write, create and update content of the college website using a content management system

o)To maintain an image library and take photos and videos of events and activities to support marketing activity.

p)To design and produce various media (for example posters, booklets, fliers) to support marketing activity using software such as Adobe Illustrator or Indesign

q)To manage and develop databases and contact information for marketing purposes

r)To maintain press, marketing and advertising files

s)To provide support to the Admissions and Marketing Officers when required

t)To represent the college at school liaison and promotional events

u)To be flexible and responsive and take on additional responsibilities and duties commensurate with the post, as directed by the Principal or Head of Marketing.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

a)An understanding of major social media channels.

b)Previous social media experience including running social media advertising / promotional campaigns.

c)Working knowledge of generating insight from social media and generating reports to assist with driving marketing decisions.

d)Strong writing ability, able to adapt tone and content to a variety of different audience segments in order to attract, engage and influence.

e)Experience of producing artwork with design packages such as InDesign and Photoshop

f)Good organisational skills and flexible nature to juggle multiple projects with exceptional attention to detail.

Experience in one or more of the following areas:
