CONSOLING THE HEART OF JESUS

Attendees: Ron Shankin, Chris Hatmaker (visitor), Karen Steplitus. Maureen is available to call if necessary.

Meeting begins in the Workroomat 7:10 pm. Realizing we hadn’t started with prayer, Chris Hatmaker leads us in prayer at 7:47pm.

As a general note, Ron recommends constantly keep our parish in touch with what the New Evangelization committee is planning/or involved with. Regular bulletin entries would be a good idea. All agree.

Consoling the Heart of Jesus: To be held Feb/Mar/Apr on Thursday’s starting February 6th through April 11th.

Ron will write up the “Save the Date” bulletin entries. He will get it to Karen who will pursue having it run for 2 weeks, starting the weekend of November 23/24.

Price for the participant packet only is $19.95; price for the book & retreat packet $29.95.

Karen will research using Eventbrite so people can register & pay for materials online. It is certainly the wave of the future, although it will obviously not appeal to all audiences.

It would be good to have a $$ commitment now. Discussed the need for a deadline for $$ so we can order materials by January 6thelse there is a concern that the materials will not arrive on time.

Maureen had agreed previously to make a pulpit announcement about the program similar to the one she did for ‘33 Days to Morning Glory’. The group discussed a basic plan as follows: Maureen pulpit announcement December 7/8 after all three Masses. Sign up Dec 7/8 and 14/15. Registration excepted (how?? parish office?? Karen will figure out...) through Sunday Jan 5thwhich should be thefinal deadline for registration.

Ron can do Thursday evenings with Maureen. The Hall is already reserved for this event. Karen can head up daytime (Friday’s after Mass). Karenwill check room availability.

Miscellaneous Discussion

Chris Hatmaker reported that next year’s Women’s Retreat is scheduled for the last weekend of September 26 – 28th 2014. They are also planning a day-only retreat in the Spring 2014, possibly to be held at Christ Hatmaker’s residence. Also discussed the possibility whether there may be any one-day retreat type material available?

Again, the group agreed there should be a spiritual/evangelization thought for the bulletin on a regular basis.

Ronhas continued doing research for a way to provide healing and resources for individuals who are struggling with a pornography addiction, or are dealing with a spouse who is addicted to pornography. He has discussed with Fr Wayne about connecting our parish website to the OLGC website section for dealing with these issues. He has been in contact with Steve at OLGC about linking for this ministry.
