American Plant Maintenance Inc. (APM) located in, Woburn, Mass, is the premiere steam trap survey company in New England. We are seeking to hire a sales engineer servicing the New York / New Jersey market. You will be a key component in our growth objectives for the balance of 2015 and into the future in Metro New York. ($10,000,000+ marketplace)
Duties
The candidate will service existing customers for their continuing steam trap survey and installation needs. Qualified leads will be furnished to build book of business.
Increase sales of steam trap surveys and installations by identifying, through heavy phone work, prospective customers.
Present steam trap survey reports/quotes and subsequent sale of completed survey recommendations for installations.
Establish, cultivate and maintain a monthly target list of potential accounts using company contact manager Maximizer to document daily contacts.
Demonstrate Successful territory/account management including maintaining existing account base, deeper penetration into existing accounts, diligent and efficient prospecting adding new accounts. This will entail some overnight travel.
Participate in all sales meetings and assigned trade shows.
The successful candidate will have; demonstrated experience calling on facility managers, plant managers, and C-level executives. Hands on mechanical/technical experience can also be helpful. Computer literacy is a must, particularly with Microsoft Office, knowledge of contact manager Maximizer is a plus but not required. The ability to manage a territory of industrial facilities is required.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, Technical or Marketing preferred, plus three (3) or more years of industrial / commercial sales experience or equivalent combination of education and sales experience.
Candidates with sales experience and have formal training within the steam service maintenance industry will be given priority consideration for the position.
