Agenda

1.  Welcome to all rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.

2.  Coaching Staff : Head Coach, Ken Cherry, assistant coach Mr. Enzo Minicozzi, JV Coach, Mr. Glen Purnia. Freshmen Coach, Mr. Pete Samila

3.  Summer Captains Practices : Tuesdays and Fridays. Venue TBD

4.  Soccer Centers Summer League - for Varsity player pool– Dates –June 22-July 20. We will commit 1 team. See 2015 Capts elect for further information.

5.  CAMPS - TWO Different Ones……same as last year. 1. Sub Varsity and 9th graders - USA Team Camp Sunday August 9th –Thursday 13th, at Pleasant Valley Park. Attendance highly suggested !! SIGN UP at www.unitedsocceracademy.com

6.  COMMITMENT : You will be expected to be present at ALL events from Team Camps in August until November 20th ( or until the State Tournament is over )

You need to see your coach with individual challenges as the season unfolds.

7. IMPACT TESTING 9th and 11th graders and/ or NEW TO RIDGE. DUE BEFORE PRESEASON !!!! - ►To take the baseline test, go to: www.impacttestonline.com/schools

►Select NJ and then click on “Launch Baseline Test.”

►Make certain to select Ridge High School when asked for “school/organization” in the demographic section.

►Enter Ridge’s customer ID code: 88A07D3F1B

►Your test results are not displayed once you are finished (all results are password protected).

► Please do not allow others to take an additional test.

8.  PHYSICALS : NEW PHYSICAL FORMS on the website are available by going to the RHS home page...click on athletics...physical information, links to print the packets, and due dates ( July 9th ) are all on this page. Mrs Schroeder has a list of when you had your last physical provided you informed her of your latest. See her with questions.

There are essentially 5 parts :

A)  Parental Consent Form

B)  Player Conduct Form

C)  Health and Doctors Physical Form

D)  NJSIAA Steroid form ( yearly )

ALL paperwork for Fall sports is due by July 9th 2015 to Mrs Schroeder in the Athletic Office, or the Main Office.

*****Since this is MANDATORY it is you pass to be on the field. The trainers will issue a list of who is CLEARED, and fit to practice / tryout.

Physical are good from August 12, 2014 forward for the Fall...if before that date, then you need a new physical. Many of you will need new physicals glancing at the list.

****Boys Soccer In House Physicals available from the school doctor on June 11th-and 16th, 3-5PM for a $40.00 fee, if you choose NOT to go to your own doctor. Pre-Register at www.gotomysportsphysical.com Bring check on the day if you go this route. See Trainers for addition details.

Update packets, consent forms, conduct forms and steroid forms must be signed and dated within 60 days of August 13, 2015. Please include all SIGNATURES.

9. TRY OUTS start Monday August 17th, 9:00 AM at Memorial Field for all 9th -12th graders. After that session, you will be instructed by respective coaches where/when your next session will be. YOU MUST BE AT EVERY SESSION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A TEAM. Only EXCEPTION would be if you were new to the district.

10. Game Schedules for all levels can be viewed at www.skylandconferencenj.org Some scrimmages/ dates may not be added yet.

11. There will be quality and quantity of talent in the program, which will continue to create a very competitive environment for spots during the try out period. We are in the best soccer Conference in the state, so focus your preparation in the following areas :

1.  Technical : get as many touches on the ball as possible in games, pick up games, and summer select teams, tournaments, etc. You will be competing against players who are playing year round in competitive programs.

The best players do it quicker !!

2. Tactical / soccer sense – make good decisions, at speed, on and off the ball

3. Fitness – Put in the work now, and you will have greater enjoyment.

4. Mental toughness – looking to continue the run we had the last 1/3 of the season.

5. The TEAM and its needs rule everything. NONE of us can become bigger than what the team, the school, and the program requires.

12 Information will come to you by email from the captains, or can be viewed on the Ridge Soccer website. Make sure you check with teammates or captains if you don’t hear anything about summer plans, etc.

13. Captains Candidate Speeches and Vote. Results will be posted in the Boys’ Soccer Bulletin Board in the Athletic office hallway.
