Lviv –Sambir – Ivano-Frankivsk – Uzhgorod - Mukachevo

Day 1 12:00 Arrival in Lviv (by own coach). Hotel check-in.

13:00-14:00 Lunch at hotel restaurant. Welcome drink.

14:30-17:00 Walking tour around the Historic and Architectural Preserve of the central part of the city (under the protection of UNESCO). View the historic buildings of the 16-17 century, beautiful churches of different confessions – Roman-Catholic, Greek-Catholic, Orthodox, Armenian; walk along Svoboda Avenue to the magnificent Opera House, stop at the pharmacy museum operating since 1735 as well as at the Royal Parlors of the History Museum …..

17:15 Tour of Lviv Opera House. Stay for a performance (optional, when available).

19:30 Dinner at one of typical Lviv restaurants or late dinner at the hotel after the performance (Optional)

Day 2 8:30 Breakfast

9:00-13:00 Go on a bus tour around the city, visiting popular Lviv attractions such as St. George cathedral from the 18-th century, Lviv Universities complexes, open-air Museum of Rural Life and Architecture “Shevchenkivsky Hay” and enjoying a beautiful panoramic view from the HighCastle park observation platform.

13:30-15:00 Lunch (optional)

14:30 – 17:00 Free time in the city center. Souvenir shopping.

19:30 Dinner at a national restaurant (Ukrainian dumplings, borsch, potato pancakes, etc), live Ukrainian national music OR dinner at a typical Lviv restaurant + concert programme of a typical Lviv cabaret (optional)

Day 3 7:00 Breakfast

7:30 Early departure for Chernivtsi

10:00-11:30 Excursion to Pochaiv Lavra, the second largest Orthodox monastery in Ukraine (16 c). Tour of the Pochaiv Monastery complex (with the Dormition Cathedral, a large bell tower, and the TrinityChurch ) and the wooden Church of the Holy Protectress, from 1643. Among its most revered artifacts are a “footprint” of the Mother of God, a miracle-working icon, and the relics of Saint Yov.

13:00-14:30 Visit to OleskoCastle, a notable monument of the 13th-18th cc. architecture, which contains a nice collection of paintings, sculpture and applied arts

14:30 Lunch at stylish restaurant “Hrydnytsia” in Olesko castle.

20:00 Arrival to Chernivtsi. Check-in at hotel “Cheremosh”

21:00 Dinner at the hotel restaurant

Day 4 8:00 Early breakfast

9:00 Departure for Khotyn

10:00-11:00 Tour of Khotyn with its fairy tale-like castle of the 15thcentury, which is best known for towering 50-meter high walls.

12:00 -1 4:30 Tour of Kamyanets-Podilsky, a delightful old town with an imposing castle of the 18thcentury surrounded by shear cliffs and a picturesque old town rising above a horseshoe-shaped meander in the river Smotrych. This thousand year-old city has numerous churches and other historic buildings that line uneven cobblestone streets. The city is included into UNESCO World Heritage List.

14:30-15:30 Lunch in Kamyanets - Podilsky. Return to Chernivtsi.

17:00-20:00 Brief tour of Chernivtsi, including the former residence of the Bukovynian archbishops, now the University of Chernivtsi (1864-82), the Opera House - a masterpiece of the Austrian architects Fehlner and Helmer; an Armenian Church and the famous Kobylyanska Street - most characteristic example of Austro-Ukrainian secession style.

20:00 Dinner + Bukovina Music Folk Show (for groups more 15 pax)

Day 5 8:00 Breakfast

9:00 Departure for Ivano-Frankivsk.

10:00-11:00 On the way to Ivano-Frankivsk, stop in Kolomyia at the Museum of Easter Eggs (the largest collection of Easter Eggs in the world).

12:00 Arrival to Ivano-Frankivsk. Hotel check-in. Lunch (optional)

14:00-16:00 Short tour of the city - an overview of the city and monuments from the 17-20 centuries, including the Roman-Catholic Cathedral; and Resurrection Cathedral of the 18thcentury - samples of baroque style; as well as the 17thcentury City Hall.

16:00-19:00 Free time. Souvenir shopping

19:30 Traditional dinner. + Musical performance of the Hutzul (one of ethnic groups of the region) Falk group - traditional Hutzul wedding (performance optional).

Day 6 8:00 Breakfast

9:00 Departure for Uzhhorod (Transcarpathian Region). You will travel through the most beautiful part of the CarpathianMountain range – Yablonetski pass – and enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Carpathian Mountains.

14:00 Arrival to Uzhhorod. Hotel check-in.

15:00-16:00 Lunch (optional)

16:00 Short tour of the city through the new as well as old city including the visit to the Botanic Garden, Uzhhorod State University, the Castle of Uzhhorod. A visit to a Carpathian market + wine tasting (optional)

19:30 Farewell dinner with live music

Day 7 Breakfast. Departure for homeland.
