TheplanningcommitteeofBinationalHealthWeek2016(BHW)wouldliketoextendacordialinvitationtoyouragency,XXX,tojoinourcommittee.Weareconvincedthatyouragency’sparticipationwouldbeanintegralpartofthiscommitteeaswellasfurtherbroadentheimpactofactivitiesthattakeplacethroughoutBHW.

BinationalHealthWeekisoneofthelargestmobilizationeffortsintheAmericasdedicatedtoimprovingthehealthandwell-beingofthevulnerable,underservedLatinopopulationthatlivesintheUnitedStatesandCanada.DuringBHW,variousfederal,stateandlocalcommunityorganizations,institutionsandvolunteersuniteannuallythroughoutthemonthofOctobertooffereducationalworkshops,healthfairs,andinsurancereferrals.Moreover,BHWusesinnovativeresourcestoimproveculturalcompetencyofhealth.AspartofthelaunchingeventsofBHW,everyyearaBinationalForumonMigrationandHealthisheld,inwhichadvocatesandresearchersengagepolicymakerstoputreducinghealthdisparitiesoftheLatinoimmigrantpopulationatthetopofthepublic-policyagenda.ThisyeartheForumwillbeheldOctober2016inMexico.

Lastyear’sBHWactivitiestookplaceduringOctober3-18th,2015.Itisestimatedthat1,780activitiestookplacewhich325,600peoplebenefittedfrom.Intheseevents3,507agenciesledby133consulatesworkedtogethertoputtogetherasuccessfulBinationalHealthWeek.

Thisyear,BinationalHealthWeekwilltakeplace inOctober.The next planningmeetingforthecommitteewilltakeplaceoninserttimeandplace.Pleaseletusknowifyouragencywouldliketobepartofthiswonderfulmovement.
