A position exists for an Analyst to join our 9 person Property Research Team, led by Dr. Paul McNamara OBE. This team is key to investment strategy and decision making in the property portfolios under management and to PRUPIM’s development as a global fund manager. If successful, you will be involved in both the analysis of UK and international commercial property markets and in cutting edge research on the nature and characteristics of the various forms of property investment. In particular, you will be involved in:
- Assessing the outlook for UK commercial property at a national, regional, and local level.
- Researching and recommending strategies related to PRUPIM’s international investments in Europe,North America and Asia Pacific.
- Regularly updating investment strategy for PRUPIM client funds.
- Developing research on fund strategies, portfolio construction and risk control.
- Developing and maintaining econometric models to forecast property market trends and develop views on property market dynamics.
- Reviewing external research relating to property market performance. Participating in meetings with property professionals to understand the outlook for commercial property markets.
- With team support, conducting innovative research into the nature of property as an investment asset and its potential for creating new business opportunities
- Contributing to written reports and oral presentations on the outlook for commercial property markets, new business initiatives and topical issues.
To succeed you will need a good Economics (or related) degree, plus quantitative skills, including knowledge of econometrics and statistical methods. A post-graduate degree would be desirable. Some economics and/or real estate related work experience would be an advantage.
You will be a good team player who is willing to learn. Other pre-requisites include good written and oral presentation skills, computer literacy, business orientation, self-motivation and enthusiasm.
