A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Madeline Locker True.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Madeline Locker True, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.

WHEREAS, Madeline Locker True was born on May 28, 1910, a native of Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on November 26, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Madeline Locker True was the loving daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen O'Brian Locker; she was the devoted wife of the late Howard True, and she was also preceded in death by a son, George True; she was the adored mother of Julie True; and she was the proud grandmother of two grandsons, Kevin Dale Manley and Mark S. Manley, and two great-grandsons, Ryan Thomas Manley and Ethan Chet Manley; and

WHEREAS, Madeline Locker True will be remembered as an active and involved citizen and an esteemed member of the Franklin County community; she retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in 1979 after 32 years of faithful service to the Commonwealth; she was a loyal member of the Democratic Party, spending countless hours of time and energy on behalf of the party and its candidates; and she was honored by the prestigious Democratic Woman's Club of Kentucky for over 70 years of dedicated service to the Democratic Party; and

WHEREAS, Madeline Locker True was an employee of the House of Representatives for all regular and special sessions from 1980 through 1996; and when this honorable body reflects upon the memory of Madeline Locker True, we remember her for the many friendships she made and sustained through the years, and also her compassion for and understanding of the common man, which she demonstrated daily throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Madeline Locker True has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Madeline Locker True, and extends to her family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Madeline Locker True.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Ms. Julie True, 201 Arbolado Drive, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
