  • I don’t know my user name or password.

If you forget your user name or password or are having problems with your account visit the ITSC (inside the Learning Commons)with valid photo ID or call905-845-9430 (select option #4, then #1).

  • Do I have health and dental plan?

Yes. All students (excluding international students) are covered by the Sheridan SU Health and Dental Plan until August 31st. For a complete coverage details, visit If you are already covered by an equivalent plan, you can opt out anytime on or before September 21st.

  • Where do I get my timetable?

To access your timetable, log in to AccessSheridan at and click on OASIS Self Service  EnrollmentMy Weekly Schedule. You must change the “show week of” date to September 8th in order to view your timetable.

  • Where is my SLATE course?

If you cannot access SLATE or cannot see a particular class in your list of SLATE classes call 905-845-9430 ext. 2150 or email with your student number, user name, and missing course name and code.

  • How do I register for a General Elective?

You will enroll in a General Elective via AccessSheridan. For assistance, visit the Student Advisement Centre (Room B104).

  • How do I find out what textbooks I need?

Your timetable acts as your unofficial booklist.The 4-letter and 5-number course codes (e.g. MATH 10000) correspond with textbooks in the Bookstore (Room B136).

  • Where can I add/drop a course?

You should always discuss your decision to add or drop a course with a Student Advisor in the Student Advisement Centre (Room B104) or with your Program Coordinator. If you decide to add or drop a course, please visit the Office of the Registrar (Room D100). The last day to add a class is September 14th, and the last day to drop a class without academic penalty is November 27th.

  • Where do I get my student ID card?

You must have your student ID card with you at all times as campus security conducts random checks. You can get your card from the ITSC (in the Learning Commons). Please ensure that you bring government issued photo ID, and your student number. If you lose your student ID card, you can purchase a replacement card from Room D100 for a fee of $10.

  • Can I receive credit for courses taken at another College or University?

Advanced Standing recognizes the courses that you attained at another College or University and allows you to earn credit for them. You can pick up an Advanced Standing Form at the Student Advisement Centre (Room B104). You must provide an official transcript and course outline of the course you wish to receive credit for.

  • How do I apply for OSAP? Where do I pick up my OSAP loan?

You can apply for free online at Be advised that it may take 4 to 6 weeks to process your application. If you have already applied, OSAP loans will be released fromSheridan’s Financial Aid Office (Room D100) – check your loan status online to make sure it is available for pickup. To receive your loan, you must present your Social Insurance Card, valid government issued photo ID, and a void cheque (or your bank account number and bank transit number).

  • How can I apply for a job on campus?

There are a variety of on-campus part-time job opportunities for students at Sheridan. To learn about recent job postings, visit the Career Centre (Room D103) or check for postings online at

  • Who can I talk to about my financial situation?

You can obtain assistance in person at the Financial Aid Office (Room D100) or over the phone (905-815-4060). No appointment is necessary—students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. You can also email Financial Aid at: .

  • Where do I find out about scholarships and bursaries, and how do I apply?

You can obtain information and application forms for privately sponsored scholarships and bursaries from the Financial Aid Office (Room D100). All students who need financial assistance are encouraged to apply for Sheridan’s Tuition Set-Aside Bursary online at AccessSheridan (Fall Deadline=Oct.9th)

  • Can I speak to a counsellor?

Free professional counsellors offer a solution-focused approach to support students. Feel free to dropin during drop-in hours every Monday to Friday in Room B103.

  • Is there someone I can talk to if I am struggling with my first year of college?

The Student Advisement Centre staff is dedicated to helping you make the transition to college by providing you with advice, information, and assistance to help you navigate your way through your Sheridan experience.Feel free to drop by the Centre (Room B104) where staff will work together with you to ensure you have all the information you need.   • Does Sheridan offer tutoring?

Free Math and English tutoring is available in the Career Centre (Room D103). If you encounter problems in a different subject area, peer tutors are available at a cost of $20.00 for 10 hours of tutoring.   • What does the Athletics Centre offer?

Your gym membership is included in your student fees, and your student ID card acts as your membership card. Take advantage of the Athletic Centre’s cardio room, weight room, gymnasium and squash courts. For a minimal fee, you can also sign up for various fitness classes and intramural sports.   • Where can I buy a ParkingPass?

You may purchase a ParkingPass from the Office of the Registrar (Room D100). Please be advised that parking after 3:00 p.m. is free. Prices (including taxes) for 2009-10 are $8.00 daily, $163 for one semester, and $300 for two semesters. You must bring government issued photo ID to obtain your ParkingPass.

  • Where can I get public transit info? Where can I buy bus tickets and monthly passes?
