DESIGN

Deliverables:

  1. Design documentation that will demonstrate that the criteria in NRCS practice standard have been met and are compatible with other planned and applied practices.
  2. Practice purpose(s) as identified in the conservation plan.
  3. List of required permits to be obtained by the client.
  4. List of facilitating practices
  5. Practice standard criteria related computations and analyses to develop plans and specifications including but not limited to:
  6. Environmental Considerations (e.g. location, air and water quality).
  7. Vegetation.

2.Written plans and specifications including sketches and drawings shall be provided to the client that adequately describes the requirements to install the practice and obtain necessary permits.

3.Operation and Maintenance Plan

4.Design modifications during installation as required.

5. List of conservation resource concerns to be addressed with the seasonal high tunnel system.

INSTALLATION

Deliverables

  1. Pre-Installation conference with client and contractor.
  2. Verification that client has obtained required permits.
  3. Staking and layout according to plans and specifications including applicable layout notes.
  4. Installation guidance, as needed.
  5. Installation inspection (according to inspection plan as appropriate).
  6. Actual materials used.
  7. Inspection records
  8. Facilitate and implement required design modifications with client and original designer.
  9. Advise client/NRCS on compliance issues with all federal, state, tribal, and local laws, regulations and NRCS policies during installation.
  10. Certification that the installation process and materials meets design and permit requirements.

CHECK OUT

Deliverables

  1. As-Built documentation.
  2. Extent of practice units applied
  3. Name of supplier, identifying item number of High Tunnel kit system
  4. Drawings
  5. Final quantities
  6. Certification that the installation meets NRCS standards and specifications.
  7. Progress reporting.

REPORTING FOR INTERIM PRACTICE EVALUATION

Deliverables:

1. Producer Report to NRCS – first year.

  1. Cost of the seasonal high tunnel system, including copies of all bills
  2. First year maintenance requirements and associated costs
  3. Record first year of crop grown within the seasonal high tunnel (dates and length of growing season)
  1. Crop type
  2. Yield
  3. Nutrient application rates (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash)
  4. Pesticide application rates (product and rate)
  1. First year’s crop data:
  1. Crop type
  2. Yield
  3. Nutrient application rates (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash)

  1. Observed benefits for plant quality, soil quality, and water quality

3. NRCS-OH Report to National Headquarters – annual and final.

  1. Summarized data from all producer reports
  2. Summarized data from evaluations of sheet and rill erosion at each site, prior to installation of the high tunnel structures,
  3. Summarized list of conservation resource concerns being addressed with the interim seasonal high tunnel systems installed, organized according to magnitude of positive practice effect
  4. Summarized list of additional drainage or erosion features installed as supporting practices, along with an evaluation of the effectiveness of each supporting practice
  5. Additional observations and recommendations.
