A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor of Ralph Eddie Coppage upon his retirement as Harrison County Clerk.

WHEREAS, Ralph Eddie Coppage is the son of the late Ralph and Anna Sue Coppage, he is the loving brother of a sister, Mary Sue Grubb of Cynthiana, and he is the proud uncle of two nieces and nephews, and a great niece and nephew; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Eddie Coppage served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and he is the recipient of two purple hearts; and he was instrumental in the placement of the Korean War Memorial monument on the Harrison County Courthouse lawn in Cynthiana; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Eddie Coppage served as Harrison County Clerk for twenty-five years; during his tenure as County Clerk, he represented his constituents with pride and honesty, while exemplifying dedication, professionalism, and high standards in his day-to-day activities; under his auspices, voter registration in Harrison County increased from 7,800 to 11,536; after passage of the mandatory proof of insurance legislation, Harrison County automobile taxes increased considerably, and with modern computerization, Harrison County was one of the first 15 counties in the Commonwealth to go on-line with the state Department of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Eddie Coppage retired as Harrison County Clerk on December 31, 2002;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby applaud Ralph Eddie Coppage for twenty-five years of dedicated service to the citizens of Harrison County. We understand that he is an avid golfer and a talented woodworker, and we wish him immeasurable success in all future endeavors.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Ralph Eddie Coppage upon his retirement as Harrison County Clerk.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Ralph Eddie Coppage, 220 North Church Street, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.
