Minnesota Biathlon Rifle Rental Agreement 2017/2018
1)Minnesota Biathlon Rifles are rented for one biathlon season. They are to be returned clean with all original parts by April 1, 2018. They need to be returned by hand delivery or shipped to Minnesota Biathlon, Bill Meyer, 6054 Shady Acres Ct, Nisswa, MN or Vlad Cervenka, in Grand Rapids or John Gould in Duluth or Piotr Bednarski in Minnepolis at the renter’s expense. They can also be returned to a Minnesota Biathlon coach with prior agreement. Rentals will not be prorated.
2)Rifle Cleaning – After every use, rifle should have a wet patch with solvent (Shooter’s choice brand or Hoppe’s) run through the barrel from the breech; followed by a brass brush that has a bit of oil on it followed by a few dry patches, followed by an oiled patch followed by one dry patch. The outside of the barrel should always have a very thin coat of oil on it. The bolts and other parts exposed to powder, dirt, etc. will be cleaned with oil and patches, toothbrush and dental pick to remove dirt and powder residue after every training.
3)The renter is financially responsible for all loss or any damage to the rifle. (E.g. clips are $85 a piece, firing pins $65, sights $350, Fortner $3,500, Bolt Action $1,800). All payment for damages or loss will be made by April 15, 2018.
4)Rented Biathlon rifles will ONLY be used for biathlon training (paper or metal biathlon targets) and racing. Renters must pay to replace broken firing pins at a cost of $65. Minnesota Biathlon rifles may NOT be used for any type of hunting.
5) Ammunition and the rifle will be stored separately (different parts of the house). Only target grade 0.22 LR standard velocity ammunition will be used in the rifle.
6) The rental fee for one season is $200 for an Anschutz Fortner, $175 for a bolt action or Russian action
rifle payable to Minnesota Biathlon. Fees are due with forms as soon as rifle is issued to athlete.
7) It is recommended that you use a cable lock for safety when the rifle is not in use.

I will also see to it that the rifle is maintained, returned and paid for if lost or damaged as specified in Items 1-7.
