We invite interested parties to submit their session proposal for the opportunity to be included in this year’s program. Please review the following information carefully for instructions on how to submit.

Target Audience

ACCSC is expecting approximately 250 representatives from the membership, including ACCSC-accredited school directors, managers, and presidents, as well as leaders from across the higher education community.

Program Focus: A Student-centered Approach to Accreditation

The PDC program, designed with our accredited member schools, focuses on a shared goal of promoting student excellence.Session proposals should have a clear connection to the conference theme, “A Community of Partners in Education,” and be characterizedinto one of the following four focus areas with the outcome centered on student success: Career and Student Services; Faculty and Staff Development; Trends and Innovations; and Best Practices.

Career and Student Services
Example Session Areas include, but are not limited to:
Strategies to improve student retention and employability; Best practices in admissions and recruitment; Graduate placement and verification best practices; Community partnerships and service learning; Employee and employer relations; Institutional partnerships; Implementing an effective employment verification program; Alumni engagement / Best Practices
Example Session areas include, but are not limited to:
Institutional Assessment and Improvement Planning (IAIP); Program Advisory Committees (PAC); Implementing 100% online and hybrid distance education programs; Learning Resource Systems; common challenges for accredited institutions; ACCSC volunteers; Third Party Verification of Employment; Pathway to School of Excellence
Trends and Innovations
Example Session Areas include, but are not limited to:
Competency based learning pilot programs; Multi-generational workforce; Understanding younger student populations; Developing and implementing new programs in a changing regulatory environment; SARA. / Faculty and Staff Development
Example Session Areas include, but are not limited to:
Instructional technologies in the classroom; Faculty development beyond classroom management; Teaching tools; Online educational technology; Leadership training; Institutional alignment and accountability.

Session Formats

All educational sessions are 75 minutes in length. ACCSC encourages all session proposals to consider a format that will engage and deliver a meaningful learning experience with tangible takeaways, as well as offering exposure to various points of view and collaboration.

-Session proposals must address how the presentation will be delivered.

-All session rooms will be equipped with a projector, screen, laptop, flipchart, and internet access for the presenter; internet will not be provided for conference participants.

-Additional audio and visual aids requested will require advance approval.

Session Selection Criteria

Before submitting your session proposal, please review the criteria below. Sessions that meet all criteria are not automatically confirmed as a part of the program; the PDC Program Committee reviews all sessions in detail to determine the best fit.

-Session focuses on one of the PDC’s four focus areas in career education with a clear intention to a student centered approach.

-Session topic is important and/or timely with clear discussion of the goals and content of the presentation.

-Session is designed for intermediate to advanced participants, while also appealing to beginners.

-Session will be presented in an engaging manner suitable to the topic.

-Session does not promote a company, service, or product.

All Session proposals are due via e-mailon or before Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

Individuals that submit a session proposal will be notified by May 31, 2018. Selected presenters must be available to present at the designated session time assigned by ACCSC on September 26, 2018, in Long Beach, California.

Selected PDC presenters are provided with:

-One (1) night hotel accommodations at the PDC host hotel;

-Complimentary registration to all conference activities (excluding Pre-Conference Workshops)

*Session Format: How do you plan to present this session in order to ensure maximum engagement from learners? Be as specific as possible.

*Room Set:How do you want the room set to engage learners? While the majority of meeting space will be set classroom or theater style, should your session require a special setup we will do our best to accommodate your request.

*Audio Visual: What audio / visual equipment will you need to support this setup? Each room is already provided with a projector and screen, laptop, flipchart, microphone, and internet.

*Additional Equipment and Materials:For example, will you plan to provide handouts? Do you have visual displays for tables and/or to tape to walls?

Hotel accommodations are covered for no more than one (1) presenter per proposal / session.

Complimentary conference registration is only provided for up to two (2) qualified presenters per proposal / session.
