Test Plans & Test Results

DROP TESTING

Drop testing using extra thermoformed enclosure materials and proper weighting to resemble internal components.

Testing Information:

START DATE: N/A .

FINISH DATE: N/A .

RESULTS: Unable to perform because of thermoforming case delays.

Testing Equipment Needed:

-  Assembled test thermoforming case back and front

-  Proper weighting to resemble LCD, speakers w/amp, and hardware in case enclosure

-  Measuring devices

-  Case hardware

Testing Conditions:

-  All materials exactly to specification as finalized product will be

-  Testing along various drop positions starting low and increasing up to 40” drop

Test Setup Instructions:

1.)  Assemble case and properly secure weighting internally using screws

2.)  Measure out distances from 5” to 40” in increments of 5” from the floor.

Test Assumptions:

-  Internal components of case will be protected by case

-  Drops can only be tested so many times in so many configurations, unable to guaranty that every drop is not going to create a failure.

Test Procedure:

1.)  Drop case from varying heights paying attention to where the case impacts the floor (corner, side, top)

2.)  As you increase the height by 5” try and do a couple of trials where the case hits different spots (corner, side, top)

3.)  Once case has been dropped inspect for damage (cracks, chips, dents and dings)

4.)  Record all results in a table of heights, locations of impact and results of drop

5.)  Damaged beyond a couple of small cracks, chips, dents and dings constitute for a failure.

Test Results:

Without the thermoformed enclosure this test was unable to be performed. The following data was retrieved from the manufacturers of each of the components used in this test to verify that the manufacture specifications will meet the desired specifications of the test.
