I.OBJECTIVE:

Work with and assist the Senior Director of Marketing & Communication and the Marketing Team to accomplish marketing campaign objectives including managing assets, coordinating media placements and promotions, analyzing and reporting on campaign results. Additional activities would include developing and executing grass roots/affinity group outreach tactics.

II.DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT(S):

Goals:

  1. Gain practical marketing experience in a professional environment. Learn the importance of planning, research, and teamwork in an active and fast-paced atmosphere.
  1. Provide an opportunity to build the Intern’s personal portfolio of work by managing several special events marketing campaigns that will include a variety of activities and details and the opportunity to see the results of the work through measurement and reporting.

Activities:

  • Manage several special event marketing campaigns throughout the Internship including managing assets, coordinating media placements, promotional aspects, community outreach and campaign performance measurement.
  • Develop and execute a grass-roots/affinity outreach plan for the 2016 summer exhibition – Game Masters: The Exhibition
  • Develop and manage a special promotion for Game Masters that may include promotional and media partners.
  • Assist as needed with setup and staffing of COSI information tables at public events and/or staff COSI’s mascot RatiO. This task could require some weekend work time.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Marketing & Communication with daily tasks and activities, as needed.
  • Attend and contribute to Marketing Department and other meetings as appropriate.

IV.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Excellent personal communications skills
  • Organized and able to manage several concurrent projects
  • Punctualand able to work dependably with minimum supervision
  • Minimum of one year of collegiate coursework (required)
  • One year of Marketing collegiate coursework (preferred, but not required)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
