SAMPLE Flood Recovery

As the healing begins…so, does the cleaning!! We have put together some tips, tricks, and resources that we hope will be helpful with this process.

  1. All items must be removed from units so we can properly sanitize the building!! The sooner the building is emptied; the sooner your things can return.
  2. Take pictures and make inventory lists for FEMA, IRS or others.
  3. There are volunteers with name tags on to help you get questions answered, help with repackaging, supply transport, etc. Staff members are wearing <X> and are here to assist you.
  4. Boxes and tape are stationed around the property…let <Staff Member Name>know by text at <phone number>if any supplies run low.
  5. Please use Clorox wipes to clean anything you plan to keep that was touched by the water.
  6. Watch out for SNAKES! There are garden hoes (snake killers) set around the property.If you need assistance, please text <phone number>.
  7. Rummaging through your unit is best done with rubber gloves and a lantern or flashlight. If you don’t have these items, see <Staff Member Name> at the <location> for some we have on hand.
  8. Port-O-Potties are located toward the <location> of the property. If you notice they are running out of paper products or soap, please notify <Staff Member Name>by text <phone number>.
  9. There are 5 dumpsters on the property for cleaning out the units and they are all located by the <location>. Please do not attempt to throw away items or leave them outside the small property dumpster located in the open lot.
  10. Shredding bins are set up around the property for documents.
  11. Coolers of water are located around the facility. If you notice one getting low on water or the ice needs refreshing, please notify <Staff Member Name> by text <phone number>.
  • NOTICE: DO NOT pay <next month> rent or expect to see Auto Payments deducted from your account this month. If you have already paid your rent for <next month>, I will be rolling that credit for future month> rent in the coming days and will send you a receipt to reflect it.
  • If you will not return with your things after the sanitizing process, please e-mail me your move out notice to email address
