The Committee Meeting of the Lafourche Basin Levee District Met at the Official Domicile

The Committee Meeting of the Lafourche Basin Levee District met at the official domicile of the Board in Vacherie, Louisiana and was called to order by PresidentRobert LeBlancat 6:00 p.m.

The following Commissioners were in attendance:Wayne Waguespack, Russell Loupe, John Boughton,Whitney Jasmin Jr., James Jasmin, Vice-President, Michael McKinney,Randy Trosclair, Executive Director, Ivy Chauvin, Assistant Executive Director were present. President Robert LeBlanc, Leonce Carmouche, Joseph Dantin, Marlin Rogers, Attorney Larry Buquoi wasabsent.

The Equipment Committee Report was presented by Commissioner Leonce Carmouche. He stated that all of our equipment was presently operational. Randy requested authorization to place on the agenda for the February 4, 2015 regular meeting to purchase a new 2015 John Deere 2 wheel drive tractor with tiger boom and rear mowers on it State contract. Randy further stated that this item is in our adopted 2015 annual budget. He also requested authorization to purchase a new tire/repair machine due to the fact that our old one in the shop is worn out and actually broken. There were no objections for both items.

The Safety Committee Report was presented by Commissioner John Boughton. He stated that we did sustain one (1) lost time accident. Jeffery Autin, our welder, was moving an I-beam with the shop forklift, and the beam fell and crushed three (3) of his fingers on his left hand. This injury occurred on January 13, 2015. Mr. Autin was sent to Thibodaux Regional Hospital where he did have surgery performed on his fingers. He is presently recovering well and should be discharged to return to work in 2 to 3 weeks. The last Safety meeting was held on January 20, 2015 at 6:00 a.m. Three films from the National Safety Council were shown and discussed. They were as follows: Clean-up and Housekeeping, Operating a Forklift and Chemical Spills, Leaks and Clean up Operations.

The next Safety meeting is scheduled for Monday February 9, 2015 at 6:00 a.m.

There was one announcement, the 30th Annual Workshop Conference will be held on May 7-8, 2015 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge.

Since there were no otherCommitteematters to discuss, it was moved by, Commissioner Dantinto adjourn and was seconded by Commissioner Rogers.
