If you are absent, your work must be made up in a timely manner. Two days will be allowed for every day of absence. Tests may be made up during lunch or before school. Students must schedule an appointment first. Most tests will take one entire period. It is the student’s responsibility to make-up missed work. Failure to follow through will result in a zero. Late work will be taken up to a week after it is due for a 50% deduction of the grade. After that deadline, a zero will be given. The best time to get help is during lunch or before school. Please check with your teacher. Teachers are here to ensure student success and individual appointments can always be set up.

Required Materials:

·  Students will need one spiral notebook that will be used as an interactive notebook. This spiral will hold all bell work, Cornell notes, most classwork, and other assignments that are asked to be placed in the spiral. This will be graded weekly by peers and by the teacher.

·  Students will need a pencil in class each day. Feel free to bring pens and highlighters to class each day as well. If a student forgets a pencil, they may borrow one but must leave an important belonging of their own (phone/keys) on the teacher desk to get back when the item is returned.

·  Students will need loose leaf paper for certain assignments. It is recommended that you have one packet of paper for the semester in this class.

Classroom Expectations:

·  Students will enter the classroom on time with their required materials and begin the bell work in their spiral notebook that the teacher has prepared. Attendance will be taken during bell work.

·  Students and the teacher will give respect to one another. This includes not talking while others are talking, raising their hand to participate, and speaking to one another in a polite manner.

·  A timer will be used to let students know how much time they have to work on an assignment. When the timer goes off, the teacher will go to the front of the room and raise their hand to let students know to stop what they are doing and focus on the teacher for directions.

·  Students are expected to be in their seats during class time. Students may only leave the classroom with the teacher’s permission and have their planner pass signed. If you need to sharpen a pencil, throw something away or get materials, please do so quietly and during your work time, but not while the teacher is talking or peers are presenting. Students must be in their seats when the bell rings to be dismissed.

·  Cell phone and headphones will be used as tools in this class but should not be out unless the teacher has given you permission to do so. These tools will need to be used in a professional manner and students do not need cell phones out or headphones in their ears (one ear or both) unless told to do so.

Please sign and return for a grade.

By signing this, I have read and understand all of the rules, procedures, and expectations of this class. Please return the attached portion to your teacher.
